Let's start this review off with mentioning the obvious. I am not a fan of anything made in China, but this generator has no resemblance of a cheaply made China product. Initial impressions are this generator is made of high quality materials. The case is plastice like all others, but there is nothing flimsy on this case. The spark can be accessed from the top with the provide tools and no dissassembly required. The oil fill tune is on the bottom and accessable, but if your like me and have larger hands it can be a little snug, but not impossible. After filling with oil and fuel this generator started up on first pull. On throttle control it's extremely quiet so much so u can hold a conversation with the person next to you if your next to the generator. Obviously decables will increase during use, but still very tolerable.I have yet to actually use it for camping as we intended to use it for, but I don't foresee a problem. Even if there are problems it has a two year warranty and I also bought a 3 year asurion warranty. I will provide updates when we go camping, but will be atleast 9 months given Alaska winter's has already started.

My expectation was to survive through our recent 2-3 day PG&E shuts down here in California and especially to keep our standard kitchen size side-by-side fridge going. The engine did stall when the generator has not been run for about 10 min but after that even with the auto throttle on, it worked good enough in that the when the fridge kicks in, the light goes dark temporarily due to a high initial demand (if the auto-throttle is off, no problem at all but then it will run out of gas sooner). But the engine would boost and fridge, our LED lamps and computer were all working fine. I think that getting the second unit and running in tandem will avoid this, but for emergency use for a few days, this is quite adequate. In this mode, we were using about 1-gal per 8 hour period. We did not notice the sound as it was running outside. Given that a fully stocked freezer will be OK for a day, if we just run this half a day, we can survive the PG&E shut down for a few days in 4-gal of fuel at hand. Since this will be our new "norm" we should all have one of those in California!

Note: I own two AY2000i generators, not the larger AY3000iPerfect generator solution for us (we own two) as full time Airstreamers.Quiet operation. Easy start-up.We love that we can usually run one of these, but also have the ability to hook up the SECOND generator in parallel so as to allow us to use our generator.Could not recommend more highly!

easy start and quiet. power enough for my needs. they should come up with a secure outdoor container for these units since you are not to run then in a house and it is not advised to run them in the rain. i made my own out of necessity.

Bought this generator to use at my daughters wedding on family property. We used it for lights strung throughout trees. It was perfect. Quiet and worked the entire time. Good buy. I would highly recommend. Two thumbs up!

Nice easy to handle and light perfect for camping

I thought it was a hoax I thought it was going to be another one of those bad online decision buys but when I arrived and I put the oil in it and fired it up very blown away! Great generator and for the price still getting a Yamaha wrapped by private label looking to buy one more so that I can double my lud.!
