The Benchmark FR arc and flame-resistant neck gaiter was developed because a customer had a problem and we found a solution. The problem was that their linemen would be up in a bucket truck drill into creosote poles and the shavings would fly into their face and mouth. They didn’t like wearing a full face mask or balaclava, so we created our a product that would protect them, but wasn’t as cumbersome. Our FR face mufflers are made with a 5.2 inherent blend of cotton and nylon, making it soft and comfortable to wear. We’ve incorporated an asymmetrical ribbed stretch panel so it will fit even if you have a gigantic head. When the temperatures get cold, it provides a layer of protection against the elements and during the hotter months, it wicks away moisture and keeps the sun off your cheeks and neck. We’ve added some unique graphic styles to our flame retardant neck gaiters because we believe being well protected and looking cool can go together. If you are working in a bucket truck drilling into a creosote pole or in the oil fields of the Permian Basin, it’s going to keep all the dust and debris out of your face and mouth. It also provides HRC/ARC Level 1 protection, has an ARC Rating (EBT) = 6.4 cal/cm2, is NFPA 70E compliant and meets ASTM F1506. We guarantee that your neck gaiter (or any of our products) will never lose its flame-resistant properties – EVER! Works well for Naval Aviation.
So far, these work very well on aircraft carriers. Takes a lot of use before needing to wash, and dispels heat from the engines of an F/A-18 Super Hornet so well that I could almost walk right through the jet blast if it wasn't also trying to knock me off my feet. Haven't had the chance to test it's FR abilities on the flight deck, (hopefully never will) but as soon as I do, I'll update this review with the results. I own four of these facemasks now, couldn't be happier with my purchase. Thanks, Benchmark!

Great for welding
Exactly what I need for overhead welding and it keeps my face and neck from being burnt. Highly recommended to all welder out in the field

Welders Beard Saver...
This thing is holding up pretty good so far. I use to protect my beard from rouge sparks and slag... Even with my shield down, today, I ended up with a fleck of metal fused to my forehead just above my glasses. But, my beard is still unscathed...Just a little update: I recieved my first one Aug 15, 2019. The one on the left, this after near daily use for almost a year. And washing once a week. I recieved the one the right Aug 7, 2020 (photo is after one washing). The only noticble difference is the tags. I actually prefer the older sewn on tag. Only because it is useful for locating the front while having it around my neck.

Saved my neck!
Really stoked on this gator. Being an electrician turned welder, I am pretty used to getting blasted by sparks, spatter and bright light. Not today! Didn't smell my beard burning either! Seriously great product here and I will definitely be buying more gear from these cats!

Light & sturdy
BENCHMARK FR Flame Resistant Face Mask Neck Gaiter, USA Made, 6.4 Cal, Lightweight, Soft FRC I bought this for work - tree work along lines - and it has been terrific. I've been wearing it regularly for the past couple weeks. The fit is snug around my nose, not tight though, so it doesn't slide down & it's kept the dust out of my mouth. The neck area is looser & not restrictive when I move, it doesn't get caught up & twisted. It's comfortable to wear right out of the box & the stitching doesn't get in the way of other PPE. Compared to other PPE face products I've used this is the winner.I was the tester for this and now we're going to order more for the rest of the crew.I've worn it a couple days/week, most of the day each time. There is good 4-way elasticity, the fit is far superior to a bandana from a comfort stand point. I has not stretched out. The fit is snug, not tight or restrictive, around my nose and gradually expands (gets looser) and it approaches my neck. I notice it when I first put goggles on but it doesn't get in the way. I don't have any issue breathing when wearing it. I wash mine every other day or whenever I have a chance which sometimes means dunking it in a bucket of water every so often & it has not loosened up. The graphics on the front still look great. There are stains on it from sap & chainsaw oil but the graphics are going strong.

I can always safely and confidently recommend Benchmark FR products to my co-workers. Benchmark FR makes safety cool -- many of their products are always great conversation starters which always dovetail into some discussion about job site safety. This is a great item for safety give-aways, ideal for anyone working oil and gas, linemen, welders, electricians.

The product itself is great. I work in industry where FR clothing is required. The neck gaiter itself started to weaken at the seam, but I called BenchMark and within minutes, they were processing a replacement for me. Excellent customer service, and you should note that if you have an issue with any BenchMark item, customer service will help you out and take care of the issue.

Awesome product
Great product! I work in refineries all Over canada. It’s light weight and warm. Fits in your pocket. FR and arc flash rated perfect for the work I do and adds a little fun to it!
