Impressive light...I would definitely purchase again
This kit is has great quality for the price. I bought it because a co-worker has the same one and I knew exactly what I was buying. Overall, the headlamp is well constructed, the light output is very bright, has a long beam distance (when not in economy mode) and a natural hue to it (vs. white or blueish) that is desirable for my line of work. The lens itself is only about 11mm in diameter, but the light output is amazing. I couldn't believe that this size lens and led chip combination could have the output and coverage that it does. I particularly enjoy the on/off function as it remembers your last brightness setting. It is very lightweight and compact, and because I use it on my hardhat, I can't tell the difference when I'm wearing it and when I'm not. The battery seems to be of good quality and I haven't experienced any problems so far with it or the headlamp. It also accepts CR123 batteries, so if the rechargeable battery goes down, you can throw in 2 of those and continue on. I would definitely buy this particular one again, and would give consideration to any light this company makes.

fairly comfortable. A little on the large side
Wicked bright, fairly comfortable. A little on the large side, so *might* not do well for highly aerobic activities like night running, but I haven't put it to the test. Get this and a protected 18650 back up battery for ~$15 and wonder why you've been using AA and AAA batteries for so long. Word of warning: there is a huge range of quality in 18650 batteries, and some of the dirt cheap Chinese made ones can pose various safety risks, so do your homework. Or, alternately, don't do your homework and make sure you have fire insurance. This headlamp is bright enough for most night time activities, including skiing, cycling, boating, etc.. I haven't put the battery run time to the test yet, but seems good so far.

Pretty Solid
Fenix makes great products and this is no exception. My lights take a lot of abuse in crawlspaces, attics and all the places I go every day doing home inspections (hit a lot of wood and gets dropped). My only disappointment is this one lasted only about a year. I sometimes feel like the charge should last longer. The only reason it is a four star is that this one didn't last as long as I thought it should.

Great trail running light
Needed an upgrade from previous headlamp. This rocks and lights up the entire Mountain (San Jacinto mnts.) I run the Skyline trail in Palm Springs, Ca. quite a bit at night and this light on medium mode (165 lumens) is more than enough. The light is crisp white with a wide flood so I can see almost 180 degrees while running the trails, it even breaks up the dimension of the rocks so I know where to place my footing. I do not use the top strap and for me the light does not bounce while running down the mountain at a 25-40 % grade. I use the 18650 3400 mah protected, rechargeable and I have a spare for a backup on me when in use. This is a well built product and has held up well over the first month of use. I do run with 2 lights and I use the HL 50 on my wrist, but that is for another review.

Great headlamp. Horrible battery
This is a great headlamp. I do wish I would have bought the next model up that you can charge without removing the battery.Really bright and lasts plenty long on the included battery when the battery works. After a year the battery even when fully charged will not turn the light on until I plug it in and unplug a few times which means putting the battery in, srcrewing the cap on and trying to turn it on and then removing the battery and plugging it back in over and over until it turns on. I will be getting a different battery and hope it will solve this problem.

Excellent headlight
Very bright. The brightest setting is probably more than you would ever need, and will run through the battery life quickly. I think it is for momentary use. The beam is widely dispersed and not focusable so if you would turn your head in the general direction of your hiking buddy while wearing it they would be blinded. Also a little on the heavy side, but not intolerable. Haven't had opportunity to use it enough to comment on battery life but if turns out to be too short there are higher mA batteries which may last longer.

Quality product and great follow up service
I had problems with my headlamp turning off by itself periodically. Contacted Felix and tried to troubleshoot the problem. They were very attentive and quick to respond to my emails. When the problem wasn’t fixed they asked me to mail it to them. In quick fashion they found the problem (headlamp) and mailed it back in working order. Works like a champ. I am glad I bought from a reputable company who stands behind their products. I will buy again with confidence and recommend them highly.

Well worth the money.
Extremely bright light. I work elevator construction and its very useful being able to see several floors away in a dark hoistway. Unless there is a high dollar flashlight around, my hard hat mounted light is always the brightest on the job. Good battery. I've had it for two months and use it almost daily.Beware: when not in use make sure to turn it off. Even on the lowest setting, you will irritate coworkers by inadvertently blinding them while talking to them with your headlamp on.
