I have been using 50-52mm wide glasses since forever. (Essilor, cryzal rock with prevencia coating, polycarbonate).But the temple length felt a bit too cramped for these as I started feeling some pressure around my temple lately.So I decided to go for this since my vision got worse and I needed to get newer glasses anyway.It fit well and looked like a better fit with the demo glasses. I did feel some weirdness about the bigger glasses, especially when I looked sideways, but I thought it was probably due to me not being used to it.I decided to go for the same polycarbonate bluecut glasses from essilor rock with prevencia coating. The power had changed from -1.5 to -2.5D (spherical).I experienced severe spherical aberration, both towards the medial and the lateral end.I have to get my eye checked again to see if there was a mistake when they calculated it last time.But there's no replacement or return is available for the lens once it's cut to fit the frame.Also smaller frame has lesser chance of aberration apparently. Or you'd need to go for glasses with higher index, but they're not unbreakable unlike polycarbonate.You'd need to get this all done within the return window here as well, otherwise, the frame's cost is also wasted.So, basically it's a real pain if you get one step wrong.Now, I'd have to check my vision again, if there's a change in power, try that in this frame first, then if it feels weird, go for thinner lenses to reduce aberration at the expense of the durability of the glasses.If that doesn't work, I'd need to buy another frame, a smaller one, similar to my older frame, then repeat the whole process all over again.So if you're someone like me, feeling pressure over the temples, feeling like going for a wider frame, please be cautious. Even minor change in width, length and shape can give you headache and nausea. This is one purchase that I'd call a huge gamble when made online...
