This bag is truly great... Where do I start?I cannot believe it was so cheap for such a great bag. That's the biggest thing. My husband has always dreamed of having a leather bag like this, but it has never been in our budget. I decided to go for it for Christmas this year. He was a little upset, until he heard it was under 100$ dollars. So he loves the bag. And he's so pleased I found one so reasonably priced.The quality is great. He's been carrying it to work (he walks, about a mile) every day, for the last three months and it is still brand new. It is comfortable to carry. The zippers are durable and work excellently.My husband is a bit of a hoarder and usually his work bags reflect that--- So this bag is carrying a lot of weight and has a lot of random things stuffed into it. It is up to the task!The leather looks lovely and doesn't feel cheap. It doesn't have the buttery gorgeous feeling of a really expensive leather, but I have had cheap, cheap goats leather products and it's definitely a notch above.If you're on a budget and looking for a nice leather bag - you won't be disappointed by this bag. Buy with confidence.

Full disclosure: I just received the satchel yesterday, so I don't yet have a true measure of "durability". However, the bag seems sturdy and well-made.I needed a new school satchel (teacher), and I grew up with the English-style book satchels. My trusty satchel's handle strap broke, so I tried to find a similarly-styled bag that didn't break the bank. This bag definitely fits the bill.It has a great finish (brown color), and the stitching is heavy-duty and of a complementary color (copper-colored). Lots of storage compartments, some of them zippered, and the interior is canvas-lined. That's an upgrade from my previous bag. It has snap closures on the front, masked by buckled straps, and I prefer the snaps. It also has storage slots for pens. It comes with a shoulder strap. Also, this leather is a fine grain, not coarse, which I like.The bag comes VERY well-wrapped: it's inside of a nylon drawstring bag, which is then wrapped in two layers of plastic, and all of the snaps and zippers are individually wrapped to protect the bag's finish.I read some complaints about the smell of the bag. Well, it's leather. I've been to leather shops in Greece and Turkey, and it smells like those shops. Not at all unpleasant, at least to me, but it does fade after a day or two. Certainly not, in my opinion, a reason to cross this bag off of your list.If the durability proves to be poor, I'll certainly update my review, but this seems like a very nice leather satchel, especially for this price.

The media could not be loaded. If you're considering buying this bag, DO IT. I wanted something stylish to carry my laptop to and from work, but there are very limited options for bags large enough to carry my 19" laptop, and most of those options are boring and drab. Well, not this one! This bag checks all the boxes. There is a slot in the front that holds my laptop perfectly, and the main compartment with the zipper closure is where I keep my other necessities, like books, wallet, etc. The belt-like strap is adjustable, and there is a adjustable cushion on the strap that is meant to be positioned over the shoulder for comfort while transporting. There is another handle that allows you carry the bag like a briefcase and it comes in handy quite often!I love everything about this bag, but the closing mechanisms on the flap take the cake! At first I was skeptical because I thought I would have to buckle and unbuckle the straps like a belt every time I needed to access anything in the bag, and that just seemed tedious. However, there are latch mechanisms hidden underneath of the buckles that allow you to quickly access and secure your bag. They are insanely convenient, and it's one of those little things that make life a little easier.I have absolutely zero complaints with this bag. I use it for anything and everything. The only thing I could think of that may deter the buyer is the smell. I personally do not mind it, as it smells like genuine leather; I'd have a candle with that scent if I could! Never understood why so many people complain about it....it's definitely weird, but it's not a gross smell. That's just the nature of leather. I will admit that the smell is very strong. My car would smell like it whenever I had it with me, but that went away with use. I've had the bag for 2 months now and the leather smell has mostly diminished. I use it heavily, and it gets tossed around often. So far it has held up very well. Great quality for the price!
