Great fit in Allen Edmonds!
I have a few shoe trees from Amazon, and they're all fine. But this Woodlore tree is without question the best fit in my Allen Edmonds shoes. Really fills up the toe box and vamp. I suppose that makes sense, as I think Woodlore was originally an in-house brand of theirs. If I had to find a nit to pick, the large shoe tree fits pretty snugly in my size 10 shoes. Slightly more snugly than I'm comfortable with, but it's probably fine, and in any case I think these fit up to 11, so it's not really fair to complain of a tight fit on the smallest size it fits.I did try the medium trees to see if the fit was a little more relaxed, and they barely fit at all. Virtually no tension front to back on the shoe, and the toe box was loose. Live and learn.

Runs small - measurements and pics included
I ordered 5 pair of the Woodlore shoe tree in XL. My size runs between 11 and 11.5 US medium to slightly wide. Prior to this purchase I had one pair of shoe trees from Thom Mcann (yep very old). When I recieved the shoe trees I had five XL boxes but one box contained size L instead of XL. Before I return them I thought it might be useful to measure each and compare them to the old Thom Mcann ones. Surprisingly the Thom Mcann size L was larger in all dimensions than the Woodlore XL.Front portion measurements were:Thom Mcann L was 3.5 inches wide, 5.5 inches long, and 2.75 tall.Woodlore XL was 3.25 inches wide, 5.5 inches long, and 1.75 inches tall.Woodlore L was 3.25 inches wide by 5 inches long, and 1.75 inches tall. The heel portion of the woodlore brands did not fill the heel area of any of my shoes.

Great cedar shoe tree, same as Allen Edmonds.
According to the size chart a size 10.5 is a size large. That is what I ordered, and they fit my shoes perfectly. The mechanism is simple to use: just push the front part in and compress the spring. Once you release the pressure, the spring expands and the heel portion pushes into place. This form, and the gentle pressure it provides, will maintain the shape of the shoe. The cedar has a pleasant smell, and is supposed to absorb both moisture and odor. Made in the USA, these are IDENTICAL to the Allen Edmonds shoe trees.

Well Made Product, Highly Recommend
This is a very well made product, highly recommend. It appears to me as if a lot of other companies who sell shoe trees outsource their production to Woodlore and then just put their name on Woodlore's product. After that they mark up the price and sell it as their own. If I am correct with that conclusion, why not simply buy from the original source? I have purchased enough of these fine shoe trees so that almost all my shoes have them. I will purchase additional ones in the future if I ever acquire more shoes.

Other than that the quality is great and they work very well
I made the mistake of ordering the wrong size. If you wear a mens 10.5, get MEDIUM! Other than that the quality is great and they work very well. A large will just barely fit in a 10. 5 shoe, it's hard to remove.

These seem to be a fair compromise between the more expensive varieties (with frilly gold bits) and the cheep ones (where the body doesn't spread or the heel is plastic.) No issues. Will order more in the future.
