Look at ALL the instructions
Product description indicated this could support large books; that is *mostly* true.I purchased this to be able to prop schoolbooks when I'm at school/library, and while it is well-designed for portability, it is not large enough or sturdy enough to hold a textbook without tipping over. If you use the little page-holders, it adds a little stability--until you need to turn the page or, worse, thumb to another place in the book, like the index.Addendum: As I re-read the instruction card that comes with this stand, I realized that I was not using the two sliding braces at the top to keep the surface rigid. This does help somewhat with holding large textbooks, so I have amended my review.Just one last thing...I really wish it could recline a little further, so that the textbook wasn't blocking my monitor screen so much. This is a minor issue, but it bugs me, so I've said it.

Effective Versatile Book Holder at a reasonable price
12/04/2013 Edit: After using it for some heavier reading, durability did come up as an issue. The plastic itself is solid, but the little holders are too weak and their design and positioning makes them very vulnerable. I mistakenly moved the book before pulling the holder out and it snapped before I could realize it. After being more careful, just a couple of weeks later, the other holder snapped in a similar way as well. Though the remaining parts of the holders have some residual function, yet the whole thing is messed up now for this reason. I revised my previous rate of 5/5 to become 3/5.Likes:-Holds textbooks well, i.e. does the job.-Versatile: Light, foldable, can even fit to a pocket, and can be used for tablets when half-folded (not tried).-Reading: Choice of four angles of inclination, ease of use, page holders.-Price: Good deal for $17.Dislikes:-Durability: Not tested enough yet, but appears questionable in comparison to other more solid options.-Setup: A bit tricky to understand at first. Tip: Read and apply instructions very carefully.-Stability: Being narrow lightweight, it can be tricky to keep a heavy book stable. Tip: Center the heavy part of the book more on the holder than the lighter half, depending on which half of the book you're reading :)In sum, a good deal for the price, effective, flexible, and versatile book holder. Recommended for readers and students, especially those who would need the holder on the go.

Relieves the stress of studying
Purchased this before I began studying for my optometry boards. I studied for about a month anywhere from 5-8 hours a day, and this made so that I was not hunched over my desk for that amount of time. This relieved stress in my back and shoulders and it provides a much better working distance for your eyes and casts less of a shadow on the pages. I can also say that it is sturdy enough to hold a 600 page spiral bound textbook, and folds up very nicely to take anywhere. Studying for a difficult test can be stressful, no need to make it worse on your neck and your eyes by hunching over a textbook for hours at the library.

Filmsy
I don't think it can tolerate the heavy book. Work pretty well for tablets and small books. Good portability. Overall just ok

Oh wonderful product
The stand is beautiful and very easy to use. I love that it was made in Korea not China. The quality is very good and it can hold my big books with no problem, and also my iPad. Great choice!
