Great replacement for TiVo power supply
My TiVo Roamio power supply failed recently, so I purchased this Chanzon power supply as a replacement based on recommendations from the TiVo Community Forum, and it has been working very well for the past month. In fact, it appears to work better than the original power supply since it does not feel warm at all to the touch unlike the original which felt very warm, and it feels a little heaver than the original which indicates higher quality in my opinion. It also has a built in ferrite core to prevent interference which again indicates quality. I highly recommend this product.

Very, Very Happy! Our TiVo Roamio works again!!!
We purchased our TiVo OTA Roamio over 8 years ago and have loved it. Unfortunately, a couple of weeks ago when we would play recordings they would stutter and freeze up. I was very concerned because we have some recorded shows that we didn't want to lose. I started reading up on this problem and how to transfer recorded shows to another drive. From what I read, there was a very high likelihood that the hard drive had gone bad. Then one night all the lights started flashing at the same time on the front of the TiVo box and it completely froze up and would not work. Not good! I read up some more and found that others that had had that problem had tried changing the power cable and that you could upgrade from a 2 amp to a 3 amp. The price of a power supply adapter was much less than a new hard drive. Plus, it gave me hope that I would still be able to save our recorded shows. So, what the heck! I did a quick review of power supply adapters that are compatible with TiVo Roamios and found this one. I liked the detailed descriptions they gave and the reviews. I ordered it. In two days (thanks Amazon!) it was delivered and I plugged it in with my fingers crossed. Yay!!! It worked! It booted right up and is working just fine. So far all the recordings I've looked at have played back fine without any stuttering or stopping. I'm hoping it will continue to work at least long enough for me to figure out how to copy our recordings to something else so we don't lose them. I'm guessing that a new power supply cable, especially increasing the amps from 2 to 3, gave the right power to the hard drive to help it function normally again. Maybe it just needed a little extra boost because it's getting old. I can relate! Our TiVo DVR gets used A LOT. It's always recording the last 30 minutes of the four last stations that it has been on. Anyway, I hope this helps if you have the same problem we had. We are very, very happy with this product!! Thanks everyone that wrote a review about how to fix this problem!

Worked for me
When my TiVo Romio OTA DVR started acting up, I researched the symptoms on the internet. It seem to point to a failing hard drive which was going to be expensive to replace. However, I also saw where some people were saying that the 2 amp power supply the machine came with, over time, would no longer be enough power for the older hard drive to function properly. They recommended trying this 3 amp version before going the more expensive hard drive replacement route. Somehow the extra amp should save the day. Well, for me it did. It's been 8 months now since I bought it and my TiVo is still running like a champ. No issues at all. Hope it works for you too. At this price it's worth a shot.

It Seems To Work
SYNOPSISI bought this as a replacement for a manufacturer's power adapter that frayed after extensive use. Two weeks into use, this power adapter appears to be functioning without any issue. I would rate it higher if the material of the power cord were better -- a braided cording would have been better. Otherwise, this seems like a viable replacement for a power adapter in the same ratings.DETAILSDifficulty Level - How Hard Was This To Use?[x] Beginner[_] Novice[_] Competent[_] Advanced[_] ExpertBuild Quality[_] This felt very poorly designed, and I recommend against buying it.[_] This felt poorly designed, but "your mileage may vary."[x] This felt like it was adequately designed, with no big pros or cons.[_] This felt like it was well designed, with more pros than alternatives.[_] This felt like it was excellently designed, and I recommend buying it.Build Materials[_] This felt like it was made of different materials than promised, and I warn against it.[_] This felt like it was made of very cheap materials, and I would not recommend it.[x] This felt like it was made of the promised materials, with no big pros or cons.[_] This felt like it was made of higher quality materials, with more pros than alternatives.[_] This felt like it was made of premium materials, and I recommend buying it.Build Safety[_] This felt very unsafe to use, and I recommend against buying it.[_] This felt a little unsafe to use, but "your mileage may vary."[_] This felt safe enough to use, but nothing to write home about.[x] This felt safe to use, with better performance than alternatives.[_] This felt very safe to use, and I recommend buying itFunctionality[_] This did not do what it promised, and I recommend against buying it.[_] This did what it promised, but very badly.[x] This did what it promised, but it was "just fine."[_] This did what it promised, and did it better than alternatives.[_] This did what it promised, with distinction, and I recommend buying it.

Worth it.
The Chandon charger is substantially larger and heavier than the cheaper one it replaced that had shipped with an audio equalizer and that had failed after one year. It seems to be a quality product, and works perfectly. Worth the extra few bucks.

Robust, solid with heatsink
Red - W5UW Here... if you're looking for the Perfect supply for your QRP transceiver here it is. This one checks all the boxes except one, the unloaded voltage is 12.26Vdc which is ok, I'm not knocking it, I just wish someone would make a 13.8Vdc plug supply like this for the world wide Ham Radio community... If you're listening - you would sell hundreds of thousands of them.
