I was amazed at the quality of these.They come in a presentation box which is a nice touch and the brushes are contained in a very sturdy zipped cordura folio. There is pretty much every brush you would ever need in the set.The handles are very long which gives excellent control and helps with spattering and other effects where you want a natural randomness to the finish.

Good quality brushes for a very reasonable price

First impressions OK, nice case, well presented. However, first time I used the number 15 with acrylics, half a dozen bristles came out. When I washed the brush in warm soapy water, I lost even more. I have not tried the other brushes yet, this has put me off.

I got a free sample of this to review.As an artist, I have been using many different kinds of brushes over the years, and I also have 10 years' experience working in an art supplies shop selling brushes to artists.These brushes are very similar in quality to the ones we sold the most of in the shop I worked in. Why? Well, they are good quality; not too soft like some synthetic brushes may be but with a bit of resistance which is necessary to move acrylics or oil paints around and which still works fine for inks and watercolours; and they are reasonably priced compared to the most similar natural-hair alternatives, which would be sable brushes, each brush sometimes costing more than this whole set put together.Of course, sable has a few advantages in how they come to a point more easily for the round brushes, holding more liquid, and resistance to strong solvents, but when it comes to value for money and versatility, these brushes are perfect for most uses.If you do use these for oil paints (and I think it is snobbery when people say you can't use synthetic brushes for oils), you should be fine as long as you don't clean them by leaving them in solvents. The brushes will dissolve too, eventually. Without adding any water, dip the brush in pure Fairy Liquid or similar, rub well, for instance against the palm of the hand, so that the washing up liquid binds with the fats of the oils, then rinse. Repeat if necessary. This works fine for me, and also avoids using potentially harmful solvents.These extra long brushes also come in a very nice, solid case, and what I think is an absolutely beautiful gift box too. Had I still been working in an art supplies shop, I could easily see sets like this selling like hotcakes for Christmas.I like the extra long brushes. I know the idea is that you can hold them by the end and stand farther away from your painting taking more of it in at the same time. Myself, I like leaning in when I paint and then standing back every now and again to see the whole painting. I still prefer these long ones, though, for how they feel in the hand, and being easier to control as you can more conveniently use your arm and even both hands if needed.

I'm not an artist. I wanted some paintbrushes for when I paint with my son, so I can use some slightly more capable brushes when he asks me to paint Mr Men, Wall-E or dragons.This is a set of 15, from very fine to very wide. They come numbered in a case, and the case itself can be folded in on itself with velcro to prop up the brushes when in use.These are lovely to use, with a long brush more suited to adult hands but capable children will manage them well enough. They come with some instructions and tips on use. I'll be using these with paint, so cannot comment on other mediums, but I've found them simple to wash and maintain and great to use on paper.The gift box is lovely, and these would be a marvellous gift for any budding artist, child/teenager or adult.With thanks to the manufacturer for the sample product, sent for review purposes.

This is another excellent set of brushes from Pegasus Guild Ltd. This set comes in a very smart gift box with a good wallet to keep the brushes in and a handy leaflet giving instructions for care and use of your brushes.The brushes are well made with painted and varnished/lacquered wooden handles, seamless yellow metal ferrules and good quality hair bristles, they are approximately 33cm long from tip of bristles to end of handle. They are ideal for use with any liquid medium but are a bit soft for use with heavy bodied acrylics or undiluted oils. They load well and can hold a decent amount of paint and lay down washes nice and evenly. The wallet is a strong, nylon material and the inserts, with elasticated brush holders, can be angled to form brush stands which is quite useful, it is secured with a full zippered closure.The excellent packaging and the good quality of the products make this an ideal gift for any artist.• I was provided with this product in exchange for an honest, unbiased review.

I have to say right up front that my wife is the artistic one of the family,closely followed by my son (who is a tattoo artist)This set has synthetic fibres and feels terrific.Now for the surprise use for these brushes......My wifes main hobby is cake baking and decoration at which she is brilliant! and this brush set will be very useful when she paints on her cakes and cupcakes.....see the photo below,which are cupcake toppers made for our birding friends ...she is even better now!So for under £30 you can purchase the most brilliant set af brushe for that artistic one in your family!Honest review of a free sample!
