Chock-a-block full of great recipes!

I have had my Vitamix for a week and love it. You can't keep me out of the kitchen! The cookbook that came with my machine is great but I was looking for more gluten-free, egg-free and vegetarian/vegan recipes to fit my dietary restrictions. As I live in Australia, I purchased the Kindle edition first, honestly, because I didn't want to have to wait for the book in the mail (and to check whether the print edition was worth spending the extra money on).I've only had the Kindle edition for a few days and have read it from cover to cover, bookmarking all the recipes I'm going to try in the coming weeks. I've already made a few of the recipes and I've found they're adaptable too for changing and substituting ingredients to meet dietary requirements. Occasionally the recipes make suggestions for substituting ingredients too, which is greatly appreciated. Some standout recipes are: Falafel, Quinoa Black Bean Burgers, Mixed Berry Purée, Peach Soy Sherbet and Banana Freeze. There are lots of others I can't wait to try! This cookbook is packed full of healthy, easy recipes and clear instructions. There's also an introduction to the Vitamix history and the author's family which is nice to read.Overall, the author in conjunction with her company's dietitians, has done a very nice job of compiling lots of healthy, easy, quick and new recipes for Vitamix owners. I'll be purchasing the print edition too.Thank you.Highly recommended!Note to editor: is the Muhammara (Red Pepper & Walnut Dip) recipe missing walnuts in the ingredient list!?

Walnut dip with no walnuts?

I returned this book. Recipes are obviously missing ingredients. Note, for instance, the "Red Pepper and Walnut Dip" on p. 83 that does not list walnuts in the ingredients list--just wholewheat bread (preferably homemade!). Now, I like bread too (particularly homemade), but it really is not the same thing as walnuts. At least have the decency to change the name if you are going nut-free.Also, many of the recipes are not so much blender recipes. They appear to be regular recipes that have been adapted so that you can blow the dust off that expensive vitamix and use it for one little part of the preparation process. For instance, the cornbread recipe just has you mix the wet ingredients in the blender. How exactly is that better than stirring? I am not sure that it will even be faster. And it leads to more clean up since a bowl and spoon is used in the next stage of the recipe anyway.I like my vitamix, but this book does not really help me.

Not using it as much as I thought I would

I bought this after I got a Vitamix for Christmas. It is a nicely made, pretty book, and it has some good recipes, but I haven't used it nearly as much as I thought is would. There are many recipes with obscure ingredients that I just don't have on hand most of the time. It also uses terminology and directions specific for one model of Vitamix, which is not the same model that I have, so it makes it difficult to follow the instructions.

You know I thought I would love this book

You know I thought I would love this book. Some of the recipes were very confusing and were really not for Vitamin only. There were many other steps included. It was little misleading. Some of the recipes were really good, but not well written. I found that there were really lots of things I would never even make. I recieved my Vitamin blender today and it came with a getting started book with recipes. Its really all I need and there is a ton of stuff on YouTube. I just really don't need this $20 average book. I will be returning.

Nice recipe book! (Printed in the U.S.)

This book literally just arrived within the last hour and I must say, so far, I'm impressed! It's an attractive book, nicely hardbound with an inch thick of content.I got this book to compliment the Vitamix 7500 "Santa" got us for Christmas (2017)The 7500 was a packaged deal from another vendor (well-known shopping program) that included two low-profile containers (regular & dry), two cookbook/recipe books, two tampers, and a CD. There's a similar package here on Amazon. The recipe book included with the 7500 is: "Intro to High Performance Blending", which is hardback and an excellent Intro to the Vitamix with a concise sampling of the various types of recipes (115) you can make using your Vitamix. If you get the dry ingredients container, there is a paperback recipe book, "Whole Grains Cookbook" with 54 recipes using grains and other dry ingredients. It, too, is an excellent book.I think this Jodi Berg cookbook, "The Vitamix Cookbook: 250 Delicious Whole Food Recipes to Make in Your Blender" is an excellent way to illustrate how easy it can be to incorporate our Vitamix into eating healthier (vs "fast food" and pre-packaged food). Each recipe shows complete instructions along with its nutritional values. Many of the recipes have a color photo as well.I'm fanning through the recipes and can't wait to try so many of them already!

Vitamix cookbook

I returned this somcalled cookbook, because it is mostly a biography and has few recipes...

Great addition to your Vitamix!

No Idea why I haven't ordered this sooner. The small recipe book included with my Vitamix was good, however this one gives many more recipes and a huge section on making your own dry ingredients and soups.

A MUST For The Vitamix Owner!

Anyone who owns a Vitamix blender should own this. Cooking with a Vitamix is a different but easy cooking technique to learn. The Vitamix Cookbook is a wonderful source. The recipes are easy, the ingredients are basic and many you will already have on hand. You can prepare ethnic foods, prepare dough for quick breads, sauces, dips, hot soups and, yes, ice cream. All with one easy to operate counter top appliance. The prep directions are excellent and usually no more than six quick steps. With some of the recipes, soups for example, you may need to season the final product to taste. The recipes are quick and nutritious and you will not find yourself looking for exotic ingredients. The Vitamix Cookbook will appeal to vegetarians and non-vegetarians alike.

this is the best. Jodi Berg gives interesting details on the history ...

I have bought several books for my Vitamix but, this is the best. Jodi Berg gives interesting details on the history of Vitamix and her recipes are not in CUPS which puts me off many of the others. I love all the recipes I have made and have lots more lined up. This is my "Go To" recipe book for my Vitamix. I will probably give the others to a charity shop!

JUST WHAT I NEEDED

I searched quite a few other books before settling on this one, mostly due to the really good reviews. I am really pleased with this. Lots of things that I will enjoy making and the introductory chapter is so interesting. Very pleased with this purchase.

Beats the "free" books that come with Vitamix and Dry Container

This was an add-on to the Vitamix blender and dry container I sent my Bestis in the Czech Republic. The books supplied with each were a bit limited, and arrived in several languages, reducing the pages for each. This is a full on cookbook for the fantastic Vitamix and she love it.

This will get you eating healthily

It took me a while to warm to this book, because the food was so ‘different’. Nonetheless, there’s plenty in here for healthy food ideas. I am now off to make myself an oat milk frappe before the 7am work meeting

Not the best and not the worst

Not the best and not the worst book but not my go to book for inspiration to use the Vitamix. Found a lot of preferable recipes on the internet. But that is just my opinion.
