Food grade and formulated for Scuba Divers...
...but useful for so many things.I keep a jar of Trident Silicone grease in my scuba toolkit along with wrenches and an allen key set and spare batteries for dive computers and spare o-rings, basically it is a diving essential.I use it to keep my dive computer o-rings and camera seals, and BCD inflator o-rings from leaking under water, my wife uses it as a mask seal to keep water from getting in on her forehead where her hair intersects her mask seal and many guys use it to seal the mustache area. This stuff is versatile and indispensable for scuba diving. There are tons of other uses. I've used it for lubricating fountain pen screw type pumps to keep the filler seals working well, I've used it around the garage for lubricating metal to metal threads, o-rings on flashlights, and a ton of other stuff but the thing about the Trident brand it it's made for scuba divers. You can rest assured that it doesn't have some unknown additive that is going to damage your skin when you use it as a mask seal or cause your $2000 underwater camera housing kit to fail and leak, ruining your gear because you used some grease that wasn't designed around scuba diving.Other silicone grease might work just as well for Scuba or it might not, but Trident Silicone grease is the best I've found for Scuba diving and works just as well as other silicone greases I've used for general household projects so I always buy the Trident brand. if you need a pure silicone grease, you won't be disappointed with this grease.

Works great for O-rings
Works great for rubber/silicon O-rings, i use it alot on flashlights to keep them waterproof, or fountain pens to keep the ink seals in good condition. Don't use it for metal threads though, there are much better options for that.

A fine product at a good price
This is a good supply of silicone grease at a reasonable price, as I write this. Petroleum products are not good for lubricating most plastics or rubber, because they tend to harden these materials and cause them to crack. Silicone coats these materials, seals and lubricates them, and protects them from hardening atmospheric contaminants such as sulphur dioxide. Thus, silicone grease is a great, multi-purpose product, roughly as generically useful as a can of oil. There is no getting around its value in conditioning rubber seals for scuba diving, among the many other things.Where silicone grease is not a recommended sealant or lubricant is on most products made of silicone rubber. Since these items are both made from silicone, most silicone rubber will absorb silicone grease, and this causes it to expand and also to soften, in other words to degenerate. For this reason, some underwater camera housings and other items may include warnings not to use silicone grease on them.I use this product where I would not use silicone grease that I have obtained from the plumbing section of a hardware store because this claims to be pure. The plumbing variety I have is 90% pure, and I don't know what is in the other 10%. No need to take chances.

Great for dive gear
Got this to replace a huge tub I was given when a friend moved. When I moved I handed off the tub to another diver and bought this one when I arrived at my new house. The tub is smaller than I thought but the product is the same and good for diving equipment to lubricate o-rings.

I'M SMILING AS I WRITE THIS!
This is one of those products that is so incredibly useful, it just makes you smile to know you bought it! For years I have been looking for a lubricant that is "O" ring friendly, food and potable water friendly and multi purpose to take care of most lubrication needs around the house, garden and garage. Use this instead of Vaseline or oil based lubricants and your o rings will stay flexible and maintain their shape and size almost indefinitely. No more black residue on your spa filters caused by deteriorating Orings. No more stuck car doors in freezing weather caused by moisture freezing the rubber door weather stripping to the metal door frame. And a little bit goes a long way so the 2 oz size lasts a long time and is great value. See other reviews for some very creative applications!Although some folks feel that the unsealed jars and consistency of the silicone surface makes it appear that someone has helped themselves to some of the contents prior to sale, I believe that the surface imperfection is caused during the filling process and not by silicone thieves! I highly recommend this product and have made a renewed purchase.

Perfect viscosity for my use
Other products were either too fluid or too stiff for my application (o-ring lubrication). Silicone vacuum grease is necessarily stiff and appropriate for vacuum systems. Other products, purporting to be usable for o-ring lubrication were so watery that they would not stay in place. Extremely happy with this grease.
