Gets HOT, but pulls data at 10GbE. Requires Thunderbolt, not just USB 4!
Have not used it for extended periods of time, but seems to work correctly when combined with a USB4 or Thunderbolt4 port. It does get HOT, so don't put anything on top of it. Windows 11 driver worked just fine out of the box, but I did tweak some settings. I do this on all my Ethernet adapters. If your USB4 port is not also Thunderbolt, this device will not show up as a network adapter. It uses the Aquantia chip. It will show up as a USB device with no function.

Works for pfSense 2.7
Was able to get this working for pfSense 2.7. You have to install the Realtek package. Try to do this prior to installation of the card or it’ll be impossible to get the packages (you need a working WAN port).1. Enable secure shell in Advanced settings and SSH as admin to your firewall management address2. Select 8 for shell and run “pkg install realtek-re-kmod” (the package installer will instruct you to do the following)3. Edit boot “ee /boot/loader.config”4. Add the two lines if_re_load=“YES”if_re_name=“/boot/modules/if_re.ko”5. Save file by pressing ESC and answering leave editor and save5. Reboot by typing reboot

High power consumption, Lacks even basic PCIe power management features (No PCIe ASPM L1)
This product does not support even basic PCIe power management technologies, such as PCIe ASPM L1. As such it can easily triple the power consumption of the computer it's installed in, by preventing the entire computer from entering lower sleep states. With this card installed my computer cannot go any lower than the C3 package cstate. Without the card installed it can stay in the C10 package cstate, which is the lowest power state. The chipset used in this card (ACQ113) can support PCIe ASPM L1 and the lower power PCIe L1.1 and L1.2 substates, but the card advertisers it cannot support them.As such this adapter is not functional for low power use cases. Suggest looking elsewhere if you need a low power 10 Gbps ethernet adapter.Firmware versions reported by the card in lspci:Bundle Version: 1.5.38Fw Version: 1.2.122Output of "lspci --vv" on Linux:Ethernet controller: Aquantia Corp. Great performer for home use. May not explicitly match photo.
Only reason I'm knocking off a star at all is the product doesn't explicitly match the advertised photo this time. I've bought two of these previously, and received the version in the photo: half height, quarter length, black PCB. What I received this time was half height, half length, red PCB. So, if you're carefully planning your build's interior aesthetic, you may get a svelte, miniature black card, or you may get a larger, flashy red card. I'm sure I'll find a happy use for it, as I'm really just buying a few extras because the price is good. That said, these Marvell Acquantia AQC107 chips perform just fine, they give me up to 1.09GB/s transfer speeds from my NAS, consistently. Just replace the thermal pad on it prior to deploying, as the stock pad is kind of trash quality and will let the chipset overheat, causing throttling.

Does its job well
This is the only only 10Gb PCIe x1 NIC I could find but it works great so far. This works out of the box on Windows 11. I was pleasantly surprised to see a significant decrease in my loaded upload latency compared to the onboard NIC I've been using. It dropped from around 50ms down to 3ms. For some reason my loaded download latency increased from around 3ms to 11ms with this card but that's a trade-off I'm happy to make. With this I'm finally able to take full advantage of my 5Gb fiber internet.
