If you're looking for the best Price:Performance alternative to Hyrdro Flask; You've found it.
I work in a prison. That prison is in middle of a desert. If you want high quality h2O to enjoy throughout the day, you’ve got to pack it in yourself. My old method was to bring a “Tritan” Nalgene and a straw-top Contigo bottle. The night before work I’d fill the Nalgene halfway full or more depending on how hot it was going to be the next day, and leave it in the freezer over night. It would be frozen solid in the morning and I’d top it off with water. It would melt throughout the day and I’d use it to fill the Contigo bottle to drink from. This system worked well, but among the major issues was the fact that the plastic bottles sweated like crazy. Literal puddles of water would form wherever I left them.Next thing I know everyone at work started bringing in these fancy Hydro Flask bottles. “Wow!” I thought. “These are great! Nice, cold, water all day long, and no sweat!” After checking out the Hydro Flasks on Amazon, I decided I’d rather not take out a second mortgage on my house in order to buy a water bottle.I started poking around at the different “knock offs.” 45° Latitude and Swig Savvy seemed to be the most well-reviewed of the lot. I own bottles from both companies and love them both. I have the 64oz bottle from Swig Savvy and two of the 40oz 45° Latitude bottles. The only major issue I see between the “knock offs” and Hydro Flask is that Hydro Flask touts a lifetime warranty. I believe 45° Latitude offers three months. What sets the 45° Latitude bottles apart from the Swig Savvy is the presentation: Even 45° Latitude’s cheaper bottles come powder coated, they come with the multi-colored lid bands, and they come in a nice little box. I will also say that 45° Latitude seems to have some on-point customer service. They e-mailed me to thank me for the order, etc. Swig Savvy comes with the protective sleeve and tote, but they also cost a bit more. You can order the 45° Latitude sling separately if you fancy. So, let’s get down to performance: Awesome! Keeps the water cold all dang day. I use the second 40oz bottle to leave in the car full of ice water so that I still have cold water for the drive home if I go through all my water during the day. Remember I mentioned I work in middle of desert? Ambient temps get up to 105F – 110F, so I know the temp in the car is easily reaching over 150F during the day. Guess what? I still have cold water in my 45° Latitude bottle inside that 150F car!I snagged a couple of the Hydro Flask straw lids which fit just fine on these bottles (you’ve got to kind of muscle them on there but they work great). So what’s the difference between my 45° Latitude bottle and my co-workers’ Hydro Flask bottles?I can still afford to send my kids to college.

Not quite a HydroFlask, but pretty close!
Before purchasing this I had been using a 32oz HydroFlask for about two years. I was looking for something a little larger but hoping to avoid the premium price of HydroFlask. I got this 40oz bottle for half the price of a 40oz HydroFlask. For the first few weeks it worked great, it would keep drinks cold all day, if I filled it up with ice and water before bed, there would still be ice in the morning. Something changed recently and I am not sure what caused it, but its ability to keep things cold has diminished significantly. I have been noticing condensation on the outside of the bottle and it no longer keeps ice from melting over night. This is a problem I never had with my previous water bottle after 2+ years of use.On a positive note, I did reach out to 45 degrees latitude and they said they'll send me a replacement free of charge. The rep was very apologetic and responded quickly asking for my order number and address. I will update this review after a few weeks of using the replacement.***Update***After contacting the company and receiving my free replacement, I have gone two months without the issue reoccurring. I am very happy with this water bottle and the customer support from the company. I highly recommend!

Great water bottle
I wasn't sure I'd like this, but the 40 ounce size provided enough water for a strenuous summer 4 hour hike, and as advertised, the vacuum insulation kept the outside from sweating, and kept the ice water cold. I didn't "get" the bands before this arrived. I thought the photo just showed different colors or something. The bands fit around the plastic lid, and presumably are so you can differentiate your bottle from everyone else's if you happened to hike with 5 other people, all of whom had exactly the same color bottle and who chose to pile them all up for some reason. IOW, it's well done, but I don't see using them. I bought black, and my wife got red, and she put a band on hers to accessorize it, I guess. I experimented with how much of the bottle to fill with ice because I didn't want to drink all the water and find just ice cubes left, but the cool water itself (before we left) melted the ice, so I added more. My wife filled hers completely with ice and then added water and was satisfied. Also, I detest using plastic bottles with built in straws like most designs, so the open mouth of this bottle worked great for me (although you have to loop your finger over the cap strap to keep it out of the way), and the bottle was easy to clean afterward, unlike straw designs. These bottles work great, look pretty cool IMO, and are highly recommended.
