Used to have one, needed a new one. Unfortunately the quality of this was not up to standard as I went to open a bottle of wine last night and it broke straight away - really disappointed and actually quite angry!!

Bought this to ensure that my man would be able to show off while opening wine with a flourish. It was greatly appreciated, and the package was elegant. It all looked good. I felt good. I felt like I had won at gifting. My smug feeling of satisfaction was shortlived. On the first use, all was well. He looked smooth. The corkscrew worked like magic. Wine was flowing. On second use, a repeat performance. Suave, debonair... and the corkscrew worked like magic. We were being lulled into a false sense of security, dear fellow review reader. On the third use, there was no smoothness. And suave was just a sad and distant memory. The little coppery thingy at the top of the whatsit that moves when the heart of the cork is impaled on the spiky bit flew off. The wine bottle was nearly dropped. Actual precious wine was nearly spilled. The thingy flew across the kitchen in wild abandon and nestled under various kitchen accoutrements and was only located several hours later despite some rather drunken efforts at a search. When day had broken again, my man was able to reinstate the recalcitrant thingy back into its rightful position and the corkscrew works once more, but we will never feel that secure confidence again. We will always look askance at it, wondering when it will next erupt in a tantrum and try to murder us with its tiny copper thingy.

Great set for the money. I also got e-mailed a manual and e-book. Seems to have some good customer service attached to the product which is important. Would recommend the buy!

Unfortunately I found this very cumbersome, difficult and heavy to use. Now instead of the corkscrew going into the cork the cork is pushed down into the bottle. May be ok for a strong man with big hands.

I have bought one of these before however they have both broken after couple of uses.

Cheap. Felt like it would break first use. Survived about 10 bottle openings. Broke. Buy cheap buy twice.

Quite an efficient tool. Requires quite a strong arm which might become over developed, suggest you use alternate arms in use. Larger than the average opener. Nice box. Go for it if you want to swank.
