This is a great tool but there are tricks to using it successfully so it doesn't get stuck. My sink stopper has a top that turns but doesn't unscrew, so this tool must be inserted into one of the four vaned quadrants beneath it. If the tool slides down into one of the quadrants easily, without resistance, it will also slide back out easily and bring the clog gunk with it. The trick is not to put it down any quadrant where there is resistance, because if there is resistance going down, there will be resistance coming out, and that's when it may get stuck. The tool is always reaching the same place at the bottom anyway, no matter what quadrant you enter. I have had to work hard to get it "unstuck" by continually jiggling it up and down and being very patient, and the stopper does rotate a little bit so that helps too.

Having seen a similar device with a different name demonstrated on YouTube, I knew that I had to have this and it does not disappoint. It arrived promptly via Amazon Prime however the Seller did not wrap or package it but, instead, attached the shipping label to the actual product. Left in my mailbox, I found that unsettling.The product can be wiped free of debris and re-used indefinitely. Pricing varies greatly and this Seller's price is fair though I have since found a package of two tools at less than half the price at the popular big box store. In using it in a bathtub, I left the drain’s plug in place as is acceptable in the instructions. Inserting the device into the drain was quite effortless as was removal. One insertion surprisingly removed all the hair and debris as the second insertion produced no matter.This is much more effective than the available chemical products and eliminating the necessity of having the drain snaked by a plumber is an enormous benefit. I have been telling friends about it as I'd never known of such a tool previously and don't expect to ever be without it again. It appears that the different brands and different price points are all an interchangeable device so I encourage buyers to purchase based upon pricing and Seller reviews.

This little plastic thing has worked for me everytime I have needed to unclog the bathtub drain. I used to use drano which is a total waste of time and money as far as I am concerned. And of course full of chemicals I don't want to use if I don't have to. This chore is not pretty and I dread the moment when you realize the water in the tub is just not draining as quickly as it should. With a few pokes from this zip-it, everything runs smoothly. I think this is durable enough to reuse if you have the stomach to clean off all the disgusting debris that is sure to come up. As far as I am concerned, it is worth spending a few bucks whenever it is needed and tossed right out.

If I could give it more stars then I would. My wife has thick, long hair and usually puts it on the wall until she's done. I redid my bathroom so I know my p-trap and pipes were brand new. The water started backing up pretty substantially lately so we ordered this. One push all the way down, a couple twists, and wow, so much hair and gook came out. She couldn't believe it. I took a shower right after and everything was as good as new. Get this product instead of having a plumber come out.Also, made in the USA!! Fantastic!

After trying all kinds of liquid drain cleaners which were expensive and basically useless, I saw this thing and said to myself; "This thing has got to work". And that's exactly what it did, in seconds. I have a very difficult to access drain from the top, very small openings, so my options for unclogging were limited, other than literally removing the trap from underneath. So, I pushed this gadget into the drain from the top and pulled it back a few times and was happy to get all the hair and all the other goop out . And, whatever didn't come out was pushed through so, it did a better job than I ever thought possible. Now, my forever clogged drain runs like NEW! GREAT!

The clog in the bathroom sink was due to hair wrapped around the sink’s plug. No amount of drains unclogged it because it sank past the clog. This device literally cuts the hair in moments and pulled it out. The manufacturer suggests tossing the device after one use Don’t. Let’s see call a plumber get charged door to door, clean out everything under sink or use this? Highly recommend.

I liked the Zip It tool. It arrived in only the manufacturer packaging with an address label on it. It had been opened and then taped shut. The tool itself got the job done and cleared our shower drain. We have an old tub with old plumbing. I had to remove the water diverter switch to be able to put the zip it tool down that hole in our tub. Doing this got the large clump of gross slimy hair out and our drain is back to working like new!

Years ago I needed to call a plumber to unclog a sink that kept reclogging. He pulled out the Zip-It tool and removed years of hair build-up from the drain and fixed the problem quickly. He recommended that I always keep Zip-it around. I've been using it ever since to remove accumulated hair. It works great and is much cheaper than a plumber.

Bought this to clear a drain...simple enough. Except it did not get the job done. It seems like it will on paper, but when i was pushing it down the sink drain, at the bottom where it curves upward (the trap) it was not flexible enough to go around there, which is where the clog is. The length meant it should have reached no problem, but it is not as pliable as i think it needs to be, so it did not do that job. Aside from that the little 'blades' along the side seem to wear easily and this helps it get caught even more. Would not recommend

This should be a wonderful product but it was very, very disappointing. It was not long enough for both in the shower & sink drains. Personally your best buy is to simply purchase a liquid drain cleaner & do a weekly clean. That way it stops any build up of grime, etc. Live & learn.

This worked really well the first time I used it but hasn’t picked much up since then.
