Best and most heavy duty fireplace tool kit I have ever had, I will never need another one!
I really like the thickness of the handles and that this fireplace tool set is made so well with the twisted handles. I will never need to deal with handles that screw on and are threaded, which eventually strip out. This set is exceptional. I don't believe I will ever need to purchase another tool set for my fireplace ever again due to the fact that this set is so well made and so strong and thick.I really like it!

Could be better…
Packaging mess. Box arrived barely in tact. The main holder got scratched up and damaged during transit. That’s the first issue. It’s a heavy set that looks nice too but it’s definitely shinier than advertised in the photo. My biggest problem is the BRUSH is cheaply made. The bristles fall out while you assemble the set. LOTS of bristles not a few. So many that I’m returning the set! I fear that if we actually use the brush, it won’t last one winter without going bald. Uniflame please tighten up to a matte finish and fix the brush. For $166 it should be defect free. I would exchange it like for like, but I see other reviewers having issue with the bristles also. I’ll be doing a return.

Heavy Duty Fire Tools that look NICE
I'd been using the fireplace set that was included when I bought my house years ago--- a cheapish but cast set that was shorter and had screw on handles. When we upgraded to a wood burning stove, I knew it was time to find something better. After some searching (not much, these were pretty easy to find) I discovered this brand/model/set.They arrived pretty much exactly as I expected them--- a few critical inches longer than my previous set, with a nicer stand/holder, and best of all, heavy (but not overly) solid fireplace tools. The handles are thick (twisted ends instead of a screw on), the finish is really quite lovely, and the tools themselves work the way I want them to-- the log tongs especially so, although they are a two handed job, especially with heavier logs.So far, I've used them for about a month, and the finish is only a little ashy-- otherwise same as they ever were. Last fireplace tool set I think I'll need..... hopefully EVER.

Practical and Decorative
After searching for a quality set of utilitarian fire tools these stood out amongst a handful of possibilities. Initially, I wanted a black color set. In the end, I opted for these because of the formidable weight, tong construction, and the decorative twist element harkening back to traditional metalwork design. The set’s color is harmonious and unobtrusive visually. After using these for a month, with daily fires, I’m quite pleased with this purchase. I would recommend these as practical and decorative set of tools.

Pssst! Want a Good Excuse for Not Sweeping the Fireplace?
Too busy to sweep? Well, step a little closer friend. This heavy duty, beeeyoooteeeful, well-made (for the most part) set may be just what you're looking for. It's an exceptional value and you probably won't need to buy another set in your lifetime. Unless you get divorced and squabble over the toolset and lose, in which case you might have to. I digress. Clearly, with much thought and consideration given to the workload of its busy consumers, the merchant cleverly devised a box that is far too loosely packaged for the contents being shipped. Consequently, the box will fall apart in transit and will most likely be taped haphazardly back together again for the balance of its journey. In spite of this, most of the set will manage to fare quite well under the circumstances, with the exception of the brush which will be mangled beyond all recognition (possibly straight from the factory - just to be double sure you won't have to sweep). Despite your most valiant efforts to save the poor little thing, hopefully with onlookers present who can later corroborate your story (so you won't have to sweep), multitudinous bristles will spew forth and splatter unceremoniously onto your floor. You will try with some fervor to contact the merchant who will quite strategically, not respond. You will then utter a deep and somewhat pitiful sigh, and decide it looks well enough just hanging there, and hey, you won't have to sweep.
