Not Your Typical Slice and Slash
To start my review, I want to say that I rented this movie about a week ago (twice) and I still can't get it out my head. It moved me that much. What I meant about my title is, there's no guy with a mask (Jason, Michael, Leatherface) running around with knives, axe, or chainsaws. Also, there's not that unbelievable fictitious, severely burned character running around with blades for fingers. The story line of this movie, can really happen in real life, except for some very minor bits. Brutality, rape, and revenge happens all the time in our life. The producers just put it together remarkably on screen. Now I know, this a remake of the late seventies version and it copies someone else's work, but I am pretty sure I would still favor this 2010 version over the original, though I heard it was good.I am the typical type of guy who roots for the male character and enjoys watching the action and violence that the male actor can bring. But after Jennifer Hill's rape scene, when I am anticipating her revenge ,I was really anxious to see the havoc and carnage that she was going to come back with. I was on edge, because there was good portion of the movie after the rape that she doesn't appear. Then BAM!! There she was! Her retribution was original and unexpected. I was in awe. To me, I thought it was genius in the way writers came up with the ideas for her revenge and it was pleasant to see carried out by Jennifer/ Sarah. Again, not your typical slice and slash. Puts ideas for revenge to a whole new level.Even though it really wasn't that scary, I really felt on edged throughout the whole movie, up to the end when she is just sitting there. The actual rape scene was disturbing and I felt really sorry for Jennifer Hill. I kept thinking, what if she was someone I knew or cared about. If this movie had been real life and there was a young lady that was raped (especially the way she was), I would say hell yeah! Wreak Havoc! Put them through Hell, then send them to it.As for Sarah Butler, well when watching the Special Features (The Making of ISOYG), during the interview, one of the other characters mentioned that they couldn't find another actress to play the part of Jennifer Hill. I have to disagree and I say this hesitantly. I could think of several actress who could play this role quite well. BUT!!...BUT! !!And I want to emphasize this when I say it- I am SO glad that Sarah Butler played the main character. I have never seen her before in any movies. She was like a breath of fresh air as an actress. Her part in this movie and just her presence just knocked me on my a**. I guess this is what I mean when I mentioned that I couldn't get this movie out of my head. She's not the typical main stream hum-drum actress you see in the tabloids or media. I guess that's what makes her original. She was a complete surprise. Not only is she beautiful, she played her role well (Before, during, and after the rape scene). I am grateful that she didn't portray a dumb nitwit who became submissive to the antagonists. Instead, her character immensely symbolized the Phoenix in the Fire. I enjoyed her role as a smart focused athletic young lady. Well, besides the fact that in the movie she lit up a Mary J. But even then I thought that was hot.Well, I think after submitting this I might rent the movie again. Hell, I might as well just go purchase it. Hope my review helped. Didn't want to mention the actual plot, because I didn't want to ruin it for anybody. Enjoy!

better than the original
2010 i spit on your grave reboot i feel like it added necessary elements (such as: horror, suspense, thriller drama and etc.) that the original 1978 movie was lacking on, especially the ending the from the original didnt feel like an conclusion to the story bcuz it kept going on and on even when the credits begin to roll like the scene when she riding on the speed boat, bcuz it didn't feel like it was a conclusion, the church scene in the original movie felt like filler that could've easily be cut out bcuz it added nothing to the story. i also didn't like the original actress she felt flat, while in this reboot went straight to the point. Sarah butler is a much better actress than Camille Keaton: the difference between the two; camille keaton added rawness and had more of a documentary style, that felt like it was more of in the same vain of the original Texas chainsaw massacre, while Sarah butler version felt more believable in her performance added alot more emotional and trauma and focused alot more in her broken state but this movie felt more consistent with the tone unlike the original movie. however the original movie is alot more graphic than this film.

Unflinching and Graphic – A Powerful Revenge Thriller
"I Spit On Your Grave" (2010) is not a film for the faint-hearted. It's graphic, intense, and often deeply unsettling. The first half of the movie is particularly difficult to watch, portraying the horrendous act of rape and murder in a way that is far from sanitized. What makes this film stand out is its refusal to shy away from the dark and ugly realities of sexual violence. While it made me extremely uncomfortable, I came to appreciate the filmmaker's approach by the end of the film. It's meant to shock and horrify, and in doing so, it gives viewers insight into the gravity of such atrocious acts. The revenge aspect of the movie, while brutal, offers a cathartic release and shifts the power dynamics in a way that will likely resonate with some viewers. It's a well-acted film, with strong performances that lend authenticity to both the victims and the perpetrators.Warning: This film is not suitable for everyone due to its graphic content and should be approached with caution.Despite its challenging content, "I Spit On Your Grave" (2010) serves as a powerful statement on violence and retribution. It's a thought-provoking piece that can foster greater understanding and empathy, but it's best suited for those who are prepared for its intensity. Viewer discretion is strongly advised.

I Spit On Your Grave è a mio parere un ottimo horror del sottogenere rape&revenge.
