Full 4K HDMI capability through a matrix switch
I bought this some time ago, but delayed my review until I could put the entire system together. This matrix replace a system that switched input sources in RGB (component) video format then transmitted over CAT5 through the house--converting back to RGB at each TV. Combined with mating HDMI/CAT5 converter pairs (also from Amazon) for more distant TVs, I now have full HDMI input to all viewing locations with a choice of cable boxes, movie library, cameras, and Blu-Ray/DVD HDMI sources at each TV regardless of which TV is on what input. The picture is clear--not detectably different from a local individual source, and significantly improved from the RGB-based system I had been using. I can now watch the same or different sources at every TV location in 4K resolution over HDMI. Unlike my old system, the audio rides along HDMI for free; giving the option to use built-in speakers with or without a separate audio switcher. The matrix allows front panel push buttons, a IR remote, RS232, and Ethernet to control the matrix. I could not get my IR transmitter working with their IR receiver, so I used RS232 jack for control. The Ethernet control worked fine during setup, but did not match my master control system for the final installation.A special thank you goes out to the staff at TESmart, who provided fantastic support to integrate the matrix into a complex RTI-Corp-based remote control network (typing all those RS232 codes is a lot of work, so these will be posted on RTI's forum). I don't think I would have got it working without them--because of the complexities of the RTI system. The matrix assumes local network IP address 192.168.1.10 is available and compatible with your home Intranet. With their help, this obstacle and many others were resolved. As an added bonus, this system is much smaller and less glitchy than what I had before. With 5 inputs and 6 outputs in use, I have room to grow too. Outstanding!

Minor issues, great value
I've got a pair of these in a rack and I love them. There isn't great software for remote network control of them and they're getting up to the price point where I would expect better software. My main complaint is that these things can get hot and I think that's the cause of mine losing network connection periodically now after 2+ years of ownership. There are cutouts in the case for 40mm fans and it seems that they should definitely be included and they weren't in mine. However I can't complain at the $450 price point I got mine at and it was easy enough for me to add in my own headers and install a pair of fans to keep airflow through the case. Now that they're up to $600 I really hope they're putting fans in them otherwise their pushing their value limit. The lack of good software isn't a big deal for me because they do have published the communication protocol for me to develop my own software that interacts with them and lets me use them paired up with patches between the two much better than any generic software would. Publishing the protocol is a huge plus in my book and absolutely what will make sure I check these out again if I need more HDMI matrices.

Random signal drops
First day using it and I am constantly getting random 1-2 second signal drops throughout the day. I previously was using a combination of 4x4 matricies for my setup, and I never had this problem, so it is something particular to this device.Another reviewer also mentioned they get occasional dropouts but they didn't mind for some reason... to me it is completely unusable. It was anywhere from once every 20-30 min, to once every 7-10 min while I was gaming for a few hours earlier.Planning to return it. The price is lower than competitors, but for a home user it is still fairly pricey to not function 100% correctly.

Functionality blows me away!
I purchased this HDMI switcher to manage sources for two conference rooms and multiple tvs. I ran 100' hdmi cable to both conference rooms and the sources. Great picture and great flexibility. You can put any source on any TV or TVs. I extended the meeting in the main conference room to the secondary conference room in an important meeting that had overflow attendees. Worked great. I have an IR extender to control the different presets. There is also a network port as well as an Android app. I haven't used those yet. Tremendous product.

Works as expected, mostly
I had a need for 2 inputs and 6 outputs. The only single device I could find was an 8x8 matrix. This matrix was actually adorable (relatively).I like the fact it can be rack mounted. I've got some audio equipment and can combine for space saving.I also love the network control. We do video recording so it's nice to change things via computer. What I don't like is the app to control the device. Doesn't save device connection configurations. Also I see that if I change output devices to an input that is already being outputted, it causes what looks like a connection reestablish to the existing output devices. Example. TV 1 is getting cable box. TV 2 is getting Xbox. I change TV 2 to cable box and TV 1 has a disruption in signal.

One output is dead after 5 months
The switch works great as it supposed to but one output is dead after 5 months. It's hard to get any support since their office is located in China.

Worth the Extra Effort for the Price
When comparing with any other 8x8 matrix you can't beat the price on this one. I've been happy with the manual controls and have successfully coded a Home Assistant component for controlling it via LAN interface. Took some effort to get it working but overall I've been very happy with it when considering the price is 50% of that others. LAN doesn't support DHCP so you have to manually setup your computer on the same subnet that the switch defaults to and then connect with the software provided then you can change it to the IP you want. After that the software functions as expected. Certainly not a intuitive experience to get there but again given the price well worth the extra effort.
