Prefect fit for Google Nest Gen 2 Wired Doorbell but needed 24V Newhouse Hardware CHM24V Chime
I originally had the Nutone C905 Transformer paired with the BK125LWH-1 16VAC Chime. When I upgraded my standard doorbell to the Google Nest Doorbell (Wired, 2nd Gen), the existing chime stopped working correctly—it just made a humming noise. I discovered that the Nutone transformer only supplied 16V, while the Nest doorbell requires a transformer with a voltage between 16V and 24V.To resolve this issue, I replaced the old transformer with a new one. However, I also learned that the chime must be compatible. So, I purchased the Newhouse Hardware CHM24V 24-Volt Wired Doorbell Chime. Now, everything works perfectly—the doorbell rings clearly with both front and rear tones, and there are no issues at all.Helpful Tip: Before replacing the transformer, take a picture of the existing setup, especially the wiring. It makes the installation much easier. And always remember to turn off the power to the transformer, chime, and doorbell before starting any work.

This is the one you need for your Ring.
I recently installed the Maxdot Doorbell Transformer 24V 40VA to power my Ring Wired Video Doorbell, and I couldn’t be more satisfied with my choice. This transformer is not only compatible but also provides a stable 24V output, ensuring that my doorbell functions flawlessly. The installation process was straightforward, thanks to the clear instructions included in the package. I appreciated that all the necessary components were provided, which made setup a breeze even for someone who isn’t particularly handy. Within minutes, I had it connected and ready to go.One of the standout features of this transformer is its UL certification, which gives me peace of mind knowing that it meets safety standards. It operates quietly and efficiently, with no overheating issues so far, which is a huge plus for a device like this.Additionally, the build quality feels robust, and the sleek design allows it to blend in seamlessly with my home’s electrical setup. It’s been working perfectly, providing a reliable power source for my doorbell without any interruptions.Overall, I highly recommend the Maxdot Doorbell Transformer for anyone looking for a dependable and easy-to-install solution for their wired doorbell. Works so far
I have 2 Ring doorbeells I've had installed for almost a couple years now - they've always been fine with the voltage supplied by the doorbell transformer. I was surprised to be getting numerous notifications that both doorbells had under 10% battery remaining. The doorbells and chime still worked fine, but I just automatically assumed that maybe the transformer was on its way out (1987 home, probably original) so I looked for a higher VA version and settled on this one.For me, the transformer is installed in the bottom of the main electrical panel, so access was easy. After taking the cover off I was surprised to see that my existing transformer had 3 different wiring configurations and it just so happened to be set on the lowest voltage and power. That is, I probably could have just rewired the existing one.Nevertheless, for $25 or whatever I just installed the new one. I was surprised that instead of a 24V output, it was closer to 28V. What was odd is that it took a couple days or so of being on for the doorbells to start to recharge, but now it all works fine. No noticeable hum anywhere, chime still works, etc.So time will tell, but this appears to have been a good buy.

Good, solid transformer with a tiny hum
This is an excellent transformer and appears very solid and well designed. It does have a very tiny hum that you can hear if the transformer is pressed against the wall of the box, or screwed to the box. If it's sitting loose, you probably won't hear anything. It's a large transformer, however, so make a note of the dimensions that are included in the product photos because I have a standard 2-gang box (approx 4" x 4") and this transformer barely fits in there with the wires. In fact, it kind of sticks out a bit, but the wall plate covers that (barely). The photo shows how tight it is (I've put tape over the contacts.)I put a volt meter on this and it puts out 27.1 volts -- definitely enough to run my Eufy doorbell, which requires 24v.I recommend this, but I give it 4 stars instead of 5 due to the hum. The large size is a slight problem, but given that this is a well built item, the large size is to be expected. I'm quite sure this could easily power at least two or three devices.
