Good Player Including Region 1 DVDs
The main thing is that it plays DVDs including Region 1 discs, which it does. The picture quality and sound quality seem fine. It's a nice, neat little unit. I'm not aware of any noise in use, although of course it's not literally silent. It doesn't seem to get particularly warm either. There are however some minor issues.I'm a little disappointed that the USB port doesn't play videos downloaded from You Tube (which my mother's Panasonic player does), but it plays my own video files (MP2?) which is more important for me anyway. The on screen menu for the USB is terrible! Half the screen isn't used and the titles are in big text so they don't fit on screen and you have to wait for them to scroll if you want to read them. Who thought this was a good idea?! Still, it's a relatively minor issue that's easy to work around. The remote is tiny but it does have a button for subtitles. (Amazingly a previous Panasonic player didn't have a subtitle button so I sent it back b/c it's so annoying when I just want to flip the subs on and off occasionally to catch a particular line.)One thing to note is the mains lead is quite short which is good if your mains socket is close by (no mess of unused cable cluttering up the place) but obviously inconvenient if your mains socket is too far away.Overall it's fine, especially for the price.

EXACTLY AS DESCRIBED
This REALLY DOES play Region 1 DVDs!!! I am playing my region 1 Cagney & Lacey 40th Anniversary box set right now! Brilliant!!! All features fully functional on this genuinely brand new DVD player (brand new in full new packaging with full instruction booklet) with great picture & great sound quality, you just CANNOT beat Panasonic. This player has a region 2 sticker on the back BUT it has been reprogrammed to be region free, so don't let the sticker worry you. Very pleased indeed to be able to view my region 1 DVDs at last. The remote control that came with it is all black & small so not easy to see in dimly lit room, but I accidentally picked up my other Panasonic DVD player remote to use & it fully works with this player. So it seems that any Panasonic remote has every chance of operating this player if you prefer one more easy to see/handle.

If you also have a Panasonic Freeview recorder you will have to switch it off.
All works well, providing you disconnect your Panasonic Freeview recorder. This is because the Freeview recorder responds to signals given by the remote control from the Panasonic DVD player and visa versa - the DVD player will respond to signals given by the remote from the Panasonic Freeview recorder. If not using the Panasonic DVD player, then make sure you switch it off from the power supply at the wall to stop it responding to signals being sent to the Panasonic Freeview player.

the only down side is the DVD player does not have a volume control of its own

Quality Multi region player
Compact little machine. Unit says region 2 so i slightly freaked but there is a sticker externally showing this has been coded to be MULTI REGION. Have tested this by playing one of my region 1 USA dvds and it played like a dream. THANKYOU FOR THE MULTIREGION player very pleased and cheap at the price

Easy to Use
This Panasonic machine was very easy to set up if you have HDMI. It plays both PAL and NTSC as well as my own recorded DVD's. Excellent value for money. It's a very basic unit but very nice.

Panasonic dvd player
I've only used once since bought but absolutely love this dvd player, the remote could be better it's small & compact & does it's job but aesthetically leaves a lot to be desired in terms of looks, but ultimately does it's job so I'm very happy with it.
