5 Push-Button Switches
I’m adding after-market horns to my pickup truck and boat and got these switches. Each switch comes in 2 pieces. There are no instructions with these, but I figured out that the top switch piece has to be pressed into the lower (behind panel) rectangular piece. Study it a little and you’ll figure out how to line it up. Once you push it into place, two tabs with ridges on them click into two slots. I’m not sure how difficult it will be to take them apart again, and also, I don’t want to break off any of the tabs, so I drilled the correct size hole in the panel first. The hole, they say, should be 22mm in diameter or .87 of an inch. That was a little complicated for me, so I eyeballed it – held up the button and picked a drill-bit that was just a little wider than the threaded portion. I ran + and - wires – positive from the battery to the switch, and then to the horn, negative from the frame to the other horn terminal. Now when I press the button on its internal spring, it completes the circuit and the horn sounds. I inserted the top button through the hole and clicked it into the back piece. There’s a threaded nut below the button, and you tighten this down onto the panel to hold everything in place.Press the sprung button and it makes contact. Release, and the circuit breaks. The buttons are simple to use and big enough for easy access. You get 5 of them for your 10-bucks, or $2 each.

Seem very well engineered
Switch comes in two parts. Mount the button half in the box, wire up the contacts half outside (where you have all the elbow room you need), then just push and snap the halves together. I was particularly pleased that the contacts half is offset from the axis so that you can mount two opposing buttons in a small box without mutual interference. Installed these last week, any undue longevity problems will be reviewed later.I knocked off a star because they short-shipped me a button and I had to go through the whole re-order fire-drill. Check your order.

Difficult to install and service
Most push buttons have a washer and nut install on the back side. This does too. But... you can't install or remove the button from the panel without disconnecting the micro switch from the big button. That's good because you don't have to replace the switch or wiring if the button gets damaged. But it is difficult to separate.I wouldn't but these again for controls use but there could be applications where this is preferred if buttons get dirty.
