Cars didn't work
Mine came and the cars didn't work. Bummer. The track held together nicely, but was pretty useless without working cars.

This one's a winner
We all just love this race set. I bought it for my grandson as a present for when he finished potty training. Not only does he love it; he can actually assemble it. He even learned to count to 30 while "gassing up" his cars. His 5 year old sister can't wait to race him, each of them driving one of the 2 cars that came with the set. The cars really fly around the racetrack and the kids entertain themselves for hours at a time. Kudos to Mattel and Disney

Watch two battery opreated cars go around a plastic track OR instead watch paint dry on the wall for excitement?
This set consists of 2 chargeup cars. You turn them on, and set them down on the plastic track. Guess what? They keep going round and round the track - at the same pace! There are no controllers, just 2 battery powered cars and their track. My 6 year old son played with it for 2 days before loosing complete interest. It may have been interesting if there was ability to control the pace (with its own set of peculiar problems), but this is just pointless. There were no product build quality issues.

Kind of a pain...
My son's grandparents purchased this toy for him last year as a Christmas gift. I realize that they meant well, but in reality it's a rather bulky and tedious toy that takes up a bit of space; I'm certain that ol' grandpa would have thought twice about purchasing this thing if he was the one setting it up and tearing it down every time that his grandson came to visit! To be fair, it's not a completely terrible toy - my son does like the track. However, the 8 piece track assembly is a little bit flimsy and it always seems to be coming apart. (If I had a dollar for every time my son has said "Can you help fix the track? It's broken," I probably could have bought a new one by now)! As for the chargeable race cars, I have to agree with a previous reviewer: My son lost patience with the chargeable cars a long time ago. He actually prefers playing with his Matchbox cars on the track and ignoring the special ones that came with the kit! Go figure...Frankly, I would never have spent $60+ for this toy. It you can manage to find this thing brand new at over 50% off the retail price, maybe then it would be a worthwhile purchase...maybe.

Nice Christmas Toy for my son
The Cars are fast and my son loves it. The track is easy to put together. I would buy again.

Not worth it.
I should've decided against it in the first place since it's so overpriced and the cars just go around in circles (it is just a racetrack, duh...)but it was Christmas so I got it. Husband put it together without any problem. The cars don't stay charged long at all. Maybe about a minute of just racing around the track. To charge it, you have to plug it into the charger and push the button for 30 seconds. I always just guessed about 30 seconds because I didn't want to count each time (one-thousand one. one-thousand two). Lightning McQueen still works but Fransisco didn't even last long. He doesn't even charge now. Maybe my kid broke him accidentally (trying to run him without charging) but it's definitely not worth the money! Might be a good thing I'm returning it to Target now because I can just see the track when my puppy gets a hold of it! What was I thinking?????

Ready to race!
Really great set. love it. Kids really enjoyed and cars go so fast. I would recommend buying two so you have the spare cars as it costs more for the cars then the complete set.

Not worth it.
Its seems that any toy that has the name CARS or THOMAS has a mark up of 2x. Luckily I picked this up New in the box at Goodwill for $25, where Target ditches all of their overpriced failure toys. Would have been more disappointed if I had paid the ridiculous retail price. The car must be plugged in to the charger for 30 seconds and the button has to be held down. My 5 year old doesn't like to wait and I find myself sitting there holding the button down while we alternate cars and he watches the other car go around the track for 45 seconds before it putters out.
