Abound Superfood Blend Natural Adult Dog Dry Food - Salmon, Egg & Pumpkin Recipe, 4 lb Bag

A larger bag of this food did not smell like the smaller bag I had previously bought. It really smelled bad. It also caused my dog to develop diarrhea. Thank goodness I took her to the vet before she became critically ill. I’ll never buy it again. I am now making her food myself and she is feeling so much better!

I guess i should have read it better. I can get this at the store for 9.99 and the 14lb bag for the price i paid. I thought this was the 14lb and thought it would save me a trip to the store.

🚨🚨🚨ATTENTION DOG PARENTS🚨🚨🚨Don’t EVER give this food to your dogs. This past weekend Blake and I were out of the normal kibble we give to our fur babies (Gentle Giants). It was out of stock everywhere other than ordering from Chewy which takes a couple of days. We soon figured out there is a national shortage on a lot of dog foods right now. Friday night we got a “filler” food to tide them over until the morning. We just gave them each a cup of this and called it a day. Saturday night my dog (Kobe) had major projectile diarrhea followed by vomiting throughout the night to early Sunday morning. In a panic, I took him to the Animal ER. They did several tests for viruses and obstruction, he ended up with an imbalance in his floura, gave him an injection for nausea, prescribed him a bland diet/antibiotics. He felt pretty lethargic until Monday where he finally perked up but is still a little upset with his tummy, he will be okay luckily.Last night, Blake’s dog (Colt) began throwing up about 3:45am. He wouldn’t stop, the first time he threw up it was food (we have been giving them boiled chicken and rice per vet recommendations until they’re healed). After at least 6 more times, he was vomiting blood and dry heaving. So, here we go to the ER again. That vet was amazing and told us the same thing, it helped that they had some similarities to compare with what happened to Kobe. Long story short this food that I just grabbed for a quick solution for my dogs caused all of this and after reading about it I learned that it has been recalled before due to causing death and renal failure in dogs. The branding looks amazing right?? I’m going to find out how to report this because this isn’t normal AT ALL.My point of this post is to help spread awareness and my advice would be to research your dog food/stock up on your fur babe’s normal diet that they are on currently. Read about who manufactures the food, look into the fine print. I hope this helps!

Abound dog food is sold at your local Harris Teeter for $6.36 for a 4 pound bag.

Abound needs to reduce the price. My dog is hooked on this stuff; we love it. We did a side by side taste test and he prefers Abound Salmon Superfood over Rachel Ray. Only deciding factor is the price. So, I just buy it at the store. Hope that helps!

I just switched to this Abound food for my 11 month old J Russel. OMG!!! She has been on Natures Recipe but never ate unless starving. Always picky n finicky... So I said well let me research. I definitely wanted Salmon 1st and Sweet potato I was told was perfect. But this new Salmon n egg n Pumpkin.... she is eating it all up. I am mixing the last of the other with this and she loves it. Finally a healthy food she loves! She sheds so I give her Salmon food and Salmon Onega treats and dried Wild Salmon daily. It's all helping and her itching went away.

Not sure if this food is too rich but just switched my dog to this flavor and she has had the runs, itching, and vomiting. She eats Abound brand but since switching her over last week, things have not been good. Anyone else have this problem? I am switching her over to chicken and rice today and will see if her stomach settles.

This description says no animal by product meal, but reading the bag 4th ingredient is chicken meal, 6th is chicken fat, 14th chicken flavor. Salmon, egg, pumpkin with chicken. My dog allergic to chicken hopefully she doesn't have a reaction to it...
