The Grey Ghost is a beautiful white caladium that has a creamy white center with white veins and Green border. It'll look great planted in those sunny areas of your landscape. It'll look really nice if it gets a little shade!! The Grey Ghost produces a nice full plant!! This caladium needs partial to full shade and warm, fertile, moist soil with good drainage. Cool moist conditions encourage tuber rot. It is nearly evergreen where conditions remain warm and humid year-round. Plants go dormant in prolonged dry weather. Caladiums are perfect for brightening shady areas and combining with blooming plants. Where hardy, use them as garden accents, or mass them as showy ground covers. In temperate zones tubers can be dug in fall and stored in a dry airy place until spring, or potted plants can be over-wintered indoors. Caladiums like well drained soil. If the area puddles after a good rain, you might want to look elsewhere to plant your bulbs. "Mound" an area for better drainage. Keep the newly planted bulbs moist - not soggy. Shade is Good! Where most plants don't tolerate shade very well - caladiums love shady areas! When your favorite flower will bloom for a week or two, caladiums will provide wonderful leaf color and texture all summer. White varieties like White Christmas, Moonlight or Candidum put on an outstanding show all season long in shady areas.
