She had recently lost my dad and this was her first birthday without him spoiling her. She has been talking about wanting one of these Margaritaville machines for a few months now but always putting it on the back burner and hoping for the funds to one day be able to get it. I decided on a whim it was my time to spoil her and so I did by purchasing this little slice of heaven for her. After the tears of happiness came the flowing drinks.She has stocked up on the different ingredients and drink mixes for all her favorite drinks. We were a bit concerned if the cleanup was going to be worth the hassle of only having a few drinks but surprisingly it was fairly easy and definitely worth it. Most of the parts could be put into the dishwasher for cleanup. It comes with a measuring chamber that shows you how much of what to add for the popular, most common drinks. It pretty much does all the guess work for you and allows you to effortlessly enjoy your favorite drink year round.I must admit I was pretty jealous after the first use that this was not coming back home with me but I can stop by mom's anytime for a ice cold drink. The pitcher holds about 4 drink servings. It is a double chamber keeping the drinks colder longer with a flip top pour spout for use with the lid still on. It is easy to operate with controls for shave and blend and a pre-programmed feature that also allows you to adjust to your own desires. It is a bid loud when shaving the ice but no different than any other ice shaving device. Be prepared as it has some overall weight to it and is a bit larger in size but my mom displays hers on the kitchen counter with pride.If your thinking about getting this I say go for it, just do it and you'll thank me and yourself later. It is like a little slice of heaven in the home. It is probably one of the best gifts I have bought for one of the most deserving person in my life. She couldn't be anymore pleased with this and if I gave it anything less than five stars I would probably get the death stare from her!!

The media could not be loaded. A couple years back, our friends got one as a wedding shower gift. Every time we went to their house they were making something awesome with it. I have wanted one for years but this really intensified that. The cost always kind of held me back... would it be worth it... would be really use it enough to justify spending the money? YES. The answer to those questions was yes. My fiancé was not impressed when I told him I ordered this. He asked why I wasted my money on a "blender" when we have one already. A few drinks later and WE ARE IN LOVE WITH THIS MACHINE. And I stress WE. He has admitted he was wrong and tells all our friends how much he has enjoyed it.I gave it 4 stars on the ease to use, because for me, there was a bit of a learning curve in the beginning. All the YouTube videos I watched in preparation of using this machine (which our friend recommended doing before it arrived) did not match the machine we got. In fact, as I was unpacking it, I felt like we got a different model than we ordered. The videos were just incorrect, as the buttons/controls/ice holder were all different. Plus, this model comes with mixing/measuring cups and the videos gave no mention of them. I had some trouble with the mixing/measuring cups. I didn't twist them well enough and when I was adding liquids, and it would leak. Also, make sure before using the blending pitcher that the base is screwed on tight. We did not, and when we first used it, we had a leak there. We washed it first before using it and didn't remove the base of the blending pitcher, so we didn't think about checking it. All trial and error stuff. Once we got the hang of it though, everything came out perfect.Another thing to note - we had expected to just put in tequila and margarita mix. However, the measuring cup gave levels of several ingredients. FOLLOW THESE!!! Our drinks tasted 100% better when we did this. In my mind, I didn't want to "chef" it... i just wanted to pour, blend and drink. They tasted really off though - so follow the recipe from drink one and save yourself from drinking a sub-par beverage. They were not as sweet at ones you get at bars, but still delicious. A bartender friend of mine said at the restaurant he worked at, they added 1/4 cup of powdered sugar to theirs during the blend. We've tried this and have enjoyed it. We've recently tried the Pina colda recipe, as well as the strawberry daiquiri one. Oh my gosh- heaven. We have been so happy with this purchase, we are getting one for my aunt and uncle. Buy this - you won't regret it... and if you do, do some research, you're probably doing something wrong.It you have been on the fence about this, take the leap. It has been so incredibly worth it. You can literally have a pitcher of drinks ready in a few minutes if you have the ice and ingredients on hand. We do the 36 oz recipe side on the measuring cup and it fills the two margarita glasses in the picture. So this machine is perfect for us, but if you entertain a lot, you may want to invest in a larger model. We are hosting a dinner party soon for 10 people, so we will see how smoothly that goes.

My wife loves it! It works well and is easy to clean. We bought a cover for it and sits out on a counter in our mud room. Great on hot tub nights. Gets me layed a lot too! Highly recommend!

I was hoping for a good shaved ice machine that could also make a good frozen drink. After a rough start I now have a great shaved ice machine that also makes great frozen drinks. The rough start was apparently due to the blade assembly being loose when shipped. After some rough ice-only test runs i was ready to return it, but then decided to disassemble it first. The ring that holds the blade and chute in place was completely unscrewed, so the blade was not seated properly. Once it was properly assembled it worked great! Perfect shaved ice for snow cones using the manual "shave", and frozen concoctions of perfect consistency using the auto cycle.Be sure to check the blade assembly before you start!The capacity is good for 2-3 good sized frozen drinks. Be sure to put the liquid ingredients in the blender part before starting. The auto cycle results in a consistency that can be consumed directly or thru a straw, smooth rather than slushy.One ice load can make a few snow cones, just use a wide enough container to catch the shaved ice. The shaved ice has that good "chewy" texture I expect, like Hawaiian shaved ice. Pour on your flavor syrup and enjoy!
