For my children
Don’t let your children get stuck in side the car in case of water surounding the car or in case of somthing else keeping them stuck in the car this is the key out with no difficulties!!!

Must have safety item
Thankfully, I’ve never had to use this, but most of us have heard stories in the media (for me, it was the sister of someone I know) needing to escape from a motor vehicle accident, and having difficulty getting out of the car for various reasons. This is inexpensive enough that it seems like good tool to keep in the car. I’m hoping I never have to use it, but it seems solid and easy to use if necessary.

Unparalleled Customer care from Netherlands
I should've gotten this item sooner but it just hadn't occured to me. I hope I won't have to use it, but even if I can avoid accidents it could help others too. This type of item should be mandatory for all new cars. The glass-breaker head is spring-loaded and you just push the head against the window. The seatbelt cutter is self-explanatory in the image. Note, that the bracket is not sold separately as of March 01, 2016. A body shop broke it and tried to repair it with epoxy to mask it. It broke off as my leg touched it just a bit. Be gentle with the bracket; if you're handy you may want to fabricate your own bracket with better material.UPDATE: I contacted Lifehammer directly (their HQ is in Netherlands) and asked to see if they sold brackets alone, as I could not find it at Amazon (a reason why I bought the 2nd hammer). Lifehammer responded immediately, and sent me free x2 brackets. I am originally from Japan where customer services, courtesy & respect are probably the best in the world. Lifehammer meets or exceeds Japanese standards. In today's society, it is not easy to find such superior customer services.

Nice product, but mounting?
This looks like it will be very useful if I am ever in a situation that I need to get out of my car. I thought it would be an actual hammer, but it's not - there are little ceramic prongs that come out forcefully when you push the top down. Unique! I am not using the mounting bracket, though, because my husband says it is too weak and the unit would probably break free if I was in a car accident, and might fly around the car. So I am simply keeping it in my center console (that latches shut) between the seats. Very glad I bought this - gives me peace of mind! I just need to remember to unhook my seatbelt or cut it off with this tool before I break the window - especially if I'm breaking the window because I'm in water!

Amazing product
On Tuesday I was driving to work like I normally would. It was raining really bad and this chick in the right lane hydroplaned went across three lanes spinning rolled went into the trees and caught on fire. Their was a car in the center lane that almost hit her so she panicked locked her brakes up and hydroplaned and went into the tree as well. I got out and ended up having the smash the window and pull her out because the car was pinned and on fire. Thankfully I keep a life hammer mounted to my driver side door which helped break the glass quickly and easily. Highly recommend the product as everyone should have a window breaker in their car.I noticed two people gave this product one star but keep in mind a spring loaded glass breaker isn’t as simple as just hitting it against the glass. If you don’t know what you are doing or panic it will not work properly.

Don't bet your life on it!
I have one of these in all the family vehicles. Well, I used to. While cleaning out the car my son drives, I noticed his wasn't on it's holder. Before I put it back, I tested it. I pushed on the sides of the part that would make contact with the glass. The ceramic point popped out. As in, it fell out of the device. I'll be replacing all of them with something different.

Exceeds expectations, even grandma can use it.
The LifeHammer is great! It meets my expectations for the price. I had the chance to test this on a glass coffee bottle the day I received it, it shattered into pieces. This merely provides the piece of mind when driving especially during the winter time when it's -15 degrees out and driving past a shallow pond that's just deep enough to crash through ice or the car sits just below the water surface and then panic, boom, drowned. Is my imagination getting the better of me? Perhaps. But this is just a cool tool that chills in the door as a "just in case" that I've personally seen shatter glass thicker than my window. Also for the sake of curiosity I had my grandma give it a try with a fresh coffee bottle, she was also able to shatter it with the tool -- no problem. I haven't had a chance to test the seat belt blade and I'll update the review when I get a chance to do this.
