The normal position is OFF when the timer runs down to Zero. If you set to 10 minutes and then want it OFF just turn dial to OFF. I won't harm anything!!

Q: Can I leave the faucet on indefinitely after the timer stops?

I use the timer every day and have left the faucet on. I turn it off if I expect to leave the property for more than a day. I never leave it on if I expect very cold temperatures. My timers have been very good and only I worry about them when they are old, then I turn them off after use. Sort of like me.

Q: Can this connect directly to a sprinkler or is it limited to faucet connection only?

You can attach it to anything with standard water hose connections.

Q: The dial can’t be turned to the manual on position. how can i get that to happen? does a setting of 0 minutes equate to manual on?

To manually water this hose timer, press down on the release lever above the outlet and turn the dial clockwise to "Manual On". To turn it back off, rotate back to 0 and push up on the release lever.
