After the big D I had the privilege of buying everything over again for my townhouse. I think the last area rug I bought was 4 figures, but I'm still addicted to groceries and electricity. I'm also a cheapskate. A picky cheapskate, but a cheapskate. And since the house is all hardwood floors downstairs, I needed something - anything!So, I bought this rug at the tail end of 2018 to go with my new sofa and a giant, empty room. I honestly wasn't expecting much, anticipating this would be a temporary fix. You know, one of those rugs that never lays flat, looks like a wavy potato chip and the vacuum keeps sucking up one of the corners and jamming. I've been pleasantly surprised. The rug is thick, soft and has worn extremely well.First off, it's not as dense as a rug costing 2-5x as much. However what you do get is a rug that is thick vertically, doesn't mat down and is easily as dense as a really good shag carpet. It's heavy. So no problems with the vacuum. Speaking of vacuum, half of the rug doesn't wind up inside the vaccum, it's quite sturdy. As far as wear and stain-fighting? Well, I've also been lucky enough to be taking care of my mother's 14 year old dog. Incontinent, never really house broken and pancreatitis so it drinks lots and lots of water. The rug wasn't even a week old and I forgot to close the toddler gate, so being tired of ruining the hardwood floors the dog made a B line to the nice, soft, absorbent rug. This has happened about 4-5 times now, but the rug cleans up nicely, but I've also been catching it fairly soon afterwards. There were a couple of spots I missed as they started darkening, but a little bit of resolve and some scrubbing/vacuuming and it looks great.The rug doesn't get a lot of traffic, but it does get walked on. After a year it still looks good as new. Oh, and I haven't bothered putting a non-skid mesh underneath it, nor stick-on corners to keep from curling, as I did for my mother's somewhat pricier area rugs. It stays put. As you can see from the photo, it's not quite an inch thick, but close. It's also not so high that the little robo-vac doesn't hop up on it, which was a bit of a surprise. The only problem I had was there was a bit of a crease in the warp when I received it, so there was a horizontal bump running from one side to the other for several weeks. But it does relax and lie flat if you have the same issue. Not enough to doc even half a star for the price.Pros:- high pile- fairly dense- heavy weight- edges lie flat- has not gone "fuzzy"- nice color combination- great price- excellent valueCons:- a few stray (overlong) tufts- bump problem (self-resolved)I like this rug enough I'm probably going to get another one in a different pattern, and move this one to the dining area. Great materials and craftsmanship, fantastic value. Easy 5 stars from me, buy with confidence.* Vacuum used: Dyson DC33 Animal *** 2 months, Shark NV803 Duo ***** from Feb 2019 to present.

Packaged very well!Once unopened and laid in position, I was able to really admire the designs on the rug. Good quality and my space immediately popped.

We love this rug. It is the centerpiece of our home. Not only does it pull all the colors together that we needed, but looks cool and hip. Ohhhh....and the "foot feel" is just delightful. High quality. Not all Safavieh rugs are created equal.BTW, if you have a latex allergy, like me, you might note that this rug contains latex. I actually contacted Safavieh about this here was the very thoughtful response I received: "Thank you for contacting Safavieh. In regards to your inquiry, this rug is a hand-tufted rug and contains a cotton canvas backing glued on with all natural latex. The latex is non-toxic and is made from Rubber Tree Sap, which means that it doesn't contain outside fillers like clay and/or sand. The all-natural latex is safe and is not treated with chemicals such as: pesticides, formaldehyde or petroleum based additives...none of our rugs are treated with any harsh chemicals especially this one which is Oeko-Tex Certified". So for those of you with chemical sensitivities, like me, this is an especially good rug. Off-gassing was almost non-existent and I'm VERY sensitive.I appreciate all the qualities of this rug - soft, beautiful and non-toxic.

Good buy. It feels good on my feet. The pile is nice. I just got it so I haven’t needed to clean it yet. It may be an issue, it may not. The design is nice but where the colors are located there’s an indention. Instead of just vacuuming something tells me I will need to pull V extra tool off the back and really get into those crevices created by the indentions. 4 kids and a husband— I don’t need any extra work lol. It’s pretty so I recommend it. My OCD just goes into overdrive sometimes.
