The ingredients say “mighty cricket protein powder”. To me this could be anything so I messaged the seller and they got back to me very quickly and assured me that “mighty Cricket protein powder” is 100% ground crickets and contains no other ingredients. So I added 2 tablespoons to a banana smoothie for myself and my 10 & 12 year old. It tasted great, almost like ground almonds. My kids had no idea, said the smoothie was great and to my surprise were not grossed out when I told them. I want to add it to muffins next. I will definitely buy this product again.

If trying this for the first time, take it slow and stick to the suggested serving size on the package. I made the mistake of following a recipe for pancakes that I found on YouTube that called for 1/4 cup of cricket flour. My husband had a reaction after finishing meal. Itchy, hives, diarrhea and vomiting. I developed a rash 2 days later.We didn't know he had a shellfish allergy. The taste wasn't bad, it didn't smell bad either. It just didn't agree with us, unfortunately 😔.

Smell is just too strong
Really wanted to like this. Tried a tablespoon in bread recipe and a couple in hot cakes ... But the smell, like shrimp shells or bad seafood, is just too much. Might work in smoothies without cooking but even toasting the bread with so little in it required airing the house out after.

If you can get over the taste
I found its taste absolutely disgusting but it is a great source of protein and easy to throw into any smoothie or recipe. Additionally is quite easy on the tummy

Delicious and Nutritional
This is such a great, innovative way to get protein! There's no "odd" taste or texture, it's just like any other traditional protein powder!

Good but bitter
This was a fun thing to try and I was very surprised at how sweet the company is but the powder it's self has a bitter after taste. It did make nice dark sandwich bread though
