Great little antenna---works well with my equipment

While not the primary intent, this antenna is actually perfectly calibrated for weather radio bands. I get perfect reception on 39th floor high rise, no reception without using this antenna. Check youtube for install guide.

Strong reception and magnet

I was a bit skeptical about this antenna because it's got a "weird science" look about it, but this little thing works! I'm in hilly terrain where line of sight is non-existent, but I needed something to reach out further than a hand held for 2m/70 cm. Long story short, I hit a repeater about 42 miles away today with an Anytone 778 on 2m, and it wasn't a weak signal. I'll play with it more and see how it does, but it's already exceeded my expectations for a $29 antenna.

I just wanted something to use with my FT-60 in the car. I know there are higher quality mag mount antenna models out there (I own some). But for the price, this actually works quite well. There are some plastic parts. Only time will tell how they stand up to the elements. But it has a sort of steampunk look about it, which is fun. The girl at the Taco Bell drive up window even asked about it yesterday... LOL. SO yeah, transmits and receives just fine for what it is.

Fantastic ability to be a great dual band antenna

Looks cheesy and cheap. Not real impressed with quality of materials used. No adjustments to tune antenna just molded joints. Really thinking about returning it....
