Solid and Reliable 6TB Drive
Great 6 TB drive to store all of my DSLR raw and final processed photos. After plugging it into my computer via standard SATA data + power cables, I ran a surface test. The results came back with flying colors: No bad sectors, and no sectors had response times slower than 50 ms! The drive performed remarkably well in this test, I've attached screenshots of the read rate (in KB/s) as a function of LBA. Because the scan is sometimes weird (i.e., crashes) about scanning more than ~4 billion LBAs (about 2 TBs), I had to do the test in 3 phases. It is worth noting to properly do these tests, you can't use your computer much (web surfing is ok), otherwise you will get slower sector response times. This is actually my 4th WD Black drive, I have the 2, 4, 5, and now 6 TB variants. My first 2 TB Black drive was purchased in 2012 June and is still running strong. I typically check the health of my drives about every year or so by running surface scans. This review will be updated if anything (positive or negative) happens.Update (5/19/17): Regarding the other review about a "chunk" sound every 5 seconds -- I personally didn't notice any sounds out of the ordinary at all. My computer (which is a full tower) sits on the ground next to my desk, only a couple feet away from my ears and I didn't notice anything. However if I put my ear right up against my computer and listen very carefully I can hear a quiet "tink" sound every ~5 sec. or so, but this is very negligible (and I'm not even entirely sure if it is the new 6 TB drive, opening my case to confirm would be too much of a pain at this point).

4TB Drive Working Great
Upgraded from a 1TB WD Blue drive since I needed more space. The WD Black 4TB drive allows me to have a lot more space with a 7200rpm speed and 128 MB cache with a 5 year warranty which is much better than the WD Blue drives over 1TB since those use 5400 rpm drives. If you are a gamer looking to have more space for games like myself, or a somebody who would benefit from the vibration resistant chassis and larger capacity then this drive is the one. My old WD Blue is still working after 6 years and since WD Black has a greater warranty I would expect this drive to do the same if not better.

One of The better Hard Drives from WD and a solid reliable HDD
WD Black 6TB Performance Desktop Hard Disk Drive - 7200 RPM SATA 6 Gb/s 128MB Cache 3.5 Inch - WD6002FZWXThis not first time I purchased this Type of hard drive and it's capacity, in all the years that I have been building and fixing up old computers, I had one of these hard drives go bad on me, after contacting WD on the phone and with ease mind you and surprised me, but I explained what happened and they directed me to the top data recovery companies they use. The drive was just about full with Videos and pictures, (back up, back up always back up) well I did not listen o my own preaching's anyway after a few weeks I was contacted and told that it was un-recoverable at this point it was sent directly to WD and within a week I received a brand new drive no phone call no e-mail, I just got knock on the door and the UPS driver handed me a box with the new drive.I was pleasantly surprised and while I lost a lot with the dead drive, I now had a replacement with no questions asked and I would whole hardly recommend these WD hard dives to anyone, yes they are a bit on the high price end, but I can say that I tend to run my PC 24/7/365 and all my drives are WD and with a variety of size capacity's. most of them are all either back ups of back ups or used for running video, graphics apps on and gaming as well. You will always get a bad drive here and there, regardless of manufacture and I have had noting but good reliable experiences with all my 9 hard drives from WD,While these drives are only 7200 rpm, they do get the job done the only other hard drives that are faster, are the velocity Raptor at 10000 rpm and SSD drives, while SSD drives are the fastest for boot up and running apps, the price point for high capacity much to high, and even those that are 1TB or less are still fairly high priced compared to the price point of a 6TB Hard Drive, yes you can buy a few smaller capacity SSD drives and set up a raid array but you would end up spending almost the same amount if not more to get the same capacity. To get 6TB of capacity with SSD drives in a raid array and this is just an example here, a 1TB SSD is $289.00 x 3 = $867.00 compared to $299.00 for one 6TB WD HHD, now if you were to do the same $299.00 x 3 = $897.00 and you now have 18TB for just about the same price point and you can still set up a raid array. I know this not typical of every SSD manufacture and in time the prices will drop on SSD's and with SSD drives it is recommended to leave at least 40GB free all times to help it last longer and you do not have to Defrag an SSD and you should never do it.In closing I am for the time being sticking with standard HHD's and will continue to use WD HHD's.

Bought four, in love with three of them, one feeling like a step child. (Click... click... click...)
I have always been a fan of WD hdds. Always worked for me, even the ones I got back in 2004 Still work like the day I got them. Sadly I have a small complaint with one hdd I got lately that actually became a huge issue. One of these I bought back in June starting acting up. It still works perfectly and works like a new hdd... but, it started making this low click noise. At first I thought "oh, its just the arm moving." but it never stopped. I like the sound of hdds. It actually helps me sleep. This low click noise though... It keeps me up and I end up feeling angry and like I am going mad. So I turn off my pc now when I don't use it. I guess the electrical bill benefits from it, but when I am not busy doing anything it feels like someone is purposely making a small tap sound every 2-3 seconds over and over and over and over and over.Anyway, I love WD hdds. They have always worked great. Even my first lemon/annoying one still works perfectly... Since I have been writing this review with the clicking in mind, I have been listening to it. Hopefully my brain fades it away after I submit this. Of this model, I have four of them.

Solid mechanical drive
Installed without hesitation and is operating as expected. I paired this drive with an Optane module and it's really fast. As with any mechanical drive, I back this up nightly to a MyCloud server. I've never experienced a failure with a WD brand drive, and your mileage may vary. I am pleased with this drive. Great capacity and good value.

seem to behave better and much quieter
Somewhat noisy and at time seem to take longer time to react, but we said took show all well and so far (few month) no loss of data so maybe this is normal, but next time I will stick with the gold , seem to behave better and much quieter. (Both same size 6T and both I bought about the same time)
