Perfect for AC Unit Thermostat Control Rewiring!
Bought this to rewire the thermostat control wire going from the AC outside disconnect to the outside AC unit, perfect SOLID core and easy install. I stand by Southwire being the best brand for all types of wiring. I only wish the outside jacket was a little thicker, because it is thin, but it doesn't affect the inner wires as they have their own thick jackets AND still way better than those stranded wires. Overall, a really good buy for your AC thermostat and other needs, and it is super cheap!

Worked as Intended (Inner Jacket a bit thin)
Very happy with the product. I have a pellet stove which I used this to re-run my thermostat wire to a better location for more accurate reading. It is tough and will bend and hold the shape (around corners, walls ect.) There was only one problem I had with it and that was the inner wire coating was a bit on the thin side. When I stripped the outer jacket it tended to rip the inside also. I've done many of wiring jobs so yes I know what I was doing when it came to stripping the jacket. Just be careful when removing the outer jacket and you'll be fine. Other then that worked as intended for my application and would recommend.

Good wire for garage door control connections
I bought this wire as it is the proper type, with labeling on the jacket, use for code-compliant installation of concealed wiring for the garage door parts, such as the button by the walk door and the safety things at the door itself. Regular doorbell wire isn't necessarily code-legal for this kind of thing if it is going to be covered up by wall or ceiling finishes. Nice wire, good tough jacket, suited my use perfectly.

Perfect for adding C-wire for Nest Thermostat
I needed to add a C-wire in order to use the new Nest Thermostat with my two-wire system, but wanted to be able to cut the cord to a custom length to make it look cleaner. I didn't want to run new wire behind the wall and couldn't easily do the add-a-wire systems because I only had two wires to work with. This Southwire 18/2 thermostat wire worked perfectly when paired with a 24v plug-in transformer and my Nest Thermostat is now working perfectly.

Our furnace ran better this year than any in 20 years!
My husband and I finally replaced the wire that goes from the furnace to the thermostat. Our furnace has needed to be turned on manually pretty much for 20 years. The issue has been off and on, so we were never quite sure what the problem was. We replaced the thermostat probably 50 times in 20 years, possibly more. We were just about to break down and buy a furnace even though we are finally moving, but decided to try changing the wire first. I can't believe it, but it FIXED IT~! I waited months to see if it was just going to stop running again unexpectedly, because that's what it does, but it didn't~! Whoever gets this house is luckier than we have been for the last 20 years. I am heartsick at all the money we wasted before trying to change the wire. You just don't think about wire going bad - at least we didn't. If you have off and on problems with your furnace, I can't recommend this wire enough! 10 stars!
