Works, but take more for proper effect
Gave up sertraline (50mg) and gave these a go a month or so later for safety. Work well as a mood stabiliser for me. Not as strong as chemical alternatives so I take more. 2 tablets in the morning and a further 2 in the later afternoon. Keeps me good.

Works but has side effects
I believe these to be working however, I myself have been fortunate never to feel side effects from any medication untill now. I have been taking for a week and I am now suffering badly with terrible vivid dreams, trouble with sleeping and pains in my stomach. Like I say just be aware of side effects. Its a shame but I am stopping these now as my sanity and sleep are far more important.

Gentle non addictive pick me up when its gloomy
If you buy into the whole SAD thing and its grey, gloomy or an average day in the UK (apart from the 5 or 6 days that count as summer) these are a great little pick me up. Take them for a week or so and all of a gradually its not such a chore to get up and moving in the morning. Especially if you haven't made it to the gym or taken the dogs out for a while due to being stuck in the office AGAIN. Other makes are available but they arent sold over the counter in tescos etc any more (that I can find). You cant find a million articles on the net that sing the praises of St Johns wort and just as many that dismis the whole concept. Me? when everything seems as grey as the view outside my bedroom taking these for a while seems to sort me out. Might be a placebo but in my tiny little head they are a much cheaper alternative to clearing off to Barbados every month

Stopped my ridiculously anxious wakeful periods at night.
I was waking at night and unable to get back to sleep as my mind raced with scenarios for things that might or might never happen. It was driving me nuts and had been going on well over a year. That literally stopped two days after starting these tablets. I still wake, but less times and go back to sleep. I’ve been taking them each day for about three weeks and the difference is unbelievable. I’ve recommended them to other people now. It might not work for you, but you’ve little to lose. Totally true review.

Not for me.
Sorry couldn't stick with these as I found them to give me high stimulus/alertness (is in list of s/e); didn't sleep for 3 nights despite taking in the morning! That being said, a good size, easy to swallow and no nasty taste.

Really does seem to help but take care if you are on other medications
I've taken this for months at a time whenever I've been going through periods of low mood or stress (wish I had tried it sooner, when I was miserable at university). It helped me feel more resilient, for sure, and gave me a brighter outlook. Clinical trials show it can be as effective as conventional antidepressants and with fewer side effects. It's readily available to buy, without needing appointments, having a 'label' of depression etc. The only downside is that it's an enzyme inducer, so can reduce the concentrations of other medications/increase the speed at which they are broken down. If you are on the contraceptive pill, or any other important pills, take note.
