Absolutely love this little beauty!
Absolutely love this little beauty! Makes such quick fresh omelettes. Great for work! Bought one as a gift for my friend too! :)The previous reviews were really helpful in saying that you cook it for 1 min on one side then flop it over and then another minute and it's done! However the biggest tip I can give is: Look for the slightly smaller compartment/side and fill that one with the ingredients, so that when you put the other side over the top as a lid, it goes on the outside. I stupidly didn't think and went for it, then when I tried to close it, I had runny egg leaking out everywhere through the sides. I guess looking back now it's pretty obvious and this advice wont help many people as they have brains! LOL

Would love to say I'm happy, but I'm not really
I had one of the really cheap single piece of plastic with a seam in the middle, clamshell style french omelette makers - Whip up two eggs with some salt, pepper and a few herbs, spread the mix between the two halves, mosltly cook, then add filling and cook a bit more. It was great but the seam meant that it just would not lie flat so getting 2 eggs in without them spilling over was a challenge. So I buy this (French model) - one of the best rated, most expensive models on Amazon - it's just not great with toppings though... plain omelette fluffy and light every time - toppings make it look awful if you manage fluffy and in the case of cheese (have to add cheese!), it makes the mixture heavy so you wind up with a dense omelette which tastes fine, but isn't fluffy as expected. That said, I do want to try the Spanish style - I can't get enough of a Spanish Omelette, fritatta, tortilla whatever you want to call them!

Quick microwave omlettes that taste great but look unappetizing.
Does this work? Yes, it does. Making an omelette is a simple affair. Crack a couple of eggs into a jug, whisk them together as per normal, and then pour in the maker. Pop it into the microwave, run it for a few seconds, then flip it over with the red tab, microwave again and enjoy. I certainly found it to be very easy to use. I did intially have a problem with some of the egg leaking out the hinge but the manufacturer - who actually replied unlike some sellers - explained I might need to adjust the cooking times which I did. Hey presto, problem solved. So why do I think this merits three out of five stars? Because the omelettes look awful. I'm far from a food snob - I'd rather have larger portions than tiny well presented portions - but everyone who saw this agreed. One even compared the look of the omelette to a shammy cloth. Even with plenty of vegetables added to the mix, the omlettes I created with this had a very dry and unappetizing look. If you're just looking to use this for a quick tasty snack for yourself, then by all means go ahead. But if you're looking to serve this up to someone else, I'd recommend you stick with a frying pan.

Much easier than using a Round Ceramic Pie Dish
Having recently bought a sage combi microwave air fryer and knowing with lockdown I’d be cook more at home, I’ve been upgrading my microwave cooking tools. The Spanish Omelette Mould is one of my selections.A Frittata is both easy to make and a good way to use leftovers. The Spanish Omelette Mould made an excellent Frittata, my new microwaves Power is 1100 W a lot more powerful than the 800 W recommend in the Lékué recipe I used 80% power it may have taken longer but overall a good product. The only downside as with any microwaved egg dishes is there’s no colour at all.I think I’ll plate and grill the next one just to make it look better.I didn’t give any ⭐️ for flavour as I don’t eat silicone. And the concept of garbage in garbage out very much applies, not what you’re cooking it in.

We have just made our first omelette and he is so happy: ) Which of course makes me VERY happy
After reading the reviews here I bought this for my son - he has Autism and learning disability, so I am always on the lookout for things that will help him.We have just made our first omelette and he is so happy :) Which of course makes me VERY happy. He choose spring onion, pepper, spinach and cheese - it worked like a dream and although it is not the same as my Dear Mums omelettes I can see this being used a lot by us. My Husband doesn't like eggs, but we both love eggs - another way for our son to learn to cook, but also without too much risk of harm with heat.Worth every penny - Thank You for all of the reviews; helped me decide which to go for.

Floppy cookware has its disadvantages
I have tried, but I cannot warm to this object. As others have said, there is the taste issue but also manipulating it when hot. It flops around and easily comes apart and makes a mess if you flip it to even up the cooking.I've put it to one side and have instead used an old pyrex casserole. Consistently easier to handle and results seem better. If you have to microwave eggs, this is not that good.I'm often over impressed by microwave silicon ware - I've some really useful cake moulds. But this was a waste of my time and money.Any good points? Looks nice. Easy to clean.Don't bother. Binned.

Just try it and see
All of the recipes with this are for Spanish omelette type dishes with lots of ingredients I just wanted a plain cheese omelette. so I wasn't too hopeful. However, I mixed together 2 eggs, 300ml milk and some grated cheese.Gave side 1 about 2min 40 seconds at 800w.Then turned over for 2 minutes and hey presto a lovely moist omelette. So glad I bought this, and very easy to clean

Make sure you know which way is up!
This looks flimsy and cheap. It is far from that but a wonderfully strong but flexible (to allow for expansion) container to cook omelettes of all types. It comes with a recipe book too.The clamshell design looks as if both halves are interchangeable. Not so! If you put the mix in the wrong one it leaks like a sieve when you're cooking. I know you turn it over part way through the cooking cycle, but by then the outer part has solidified so that's ok.Cleaning is a doddle too - the material seems to repel all food stuff once it's cold. Wiping is almost enough - but wipe it again immediately before the next use to catch the dregs!
