A Must Have!
Can't say enough good things about this. Used it for months getting the new shop up and running. Planed all cedar planks for custom trim and it worked great! This thing is amazing! Easy to use and very durable as long as you keep it clean. Take care of it like you should and it will last! Gives a smooth board and accuracy is spot on. Great price!

Great Value Workshop Item Despite Minor Dent
I recently purchased this workshop item and was slightly disappointed to find a minor dent on the top of the machine. However, considering the affordable price point, I didn't make a big fuss about it. The item works perfectly well, just as I expected for its price. Overall, I am satisfied with the purchase and would still highly recommend it for anyone looking for a budget-friendly option.

Honesty at work
It works , it’s surprisingly easy and adjusts smoothly, the planer itself works well , the dust collection is subpar, maybe it’s me , but I have full dust collection system and we’ll not impressed, and it’s LOUD …. Louder than others I’ve used .The stand is convenient, easy to build … I ordered casters and can roll it around easily, the metal is crap super thin bend easy , bent from weight of itself on caster … but it does do the job …. Value for dollar for sure

Decent but has a few issues
First off fantastic unit. Assembling the base took about an hour, the instructions were piss poor for telling what went where. Aside from that I tried it out on a two inch slab of curly maple. It couldn't do a full turn off the handle when attempting to plane. It stalled out and popped the breaker that was built in. Half turn and it seemed happy enough. DeWalts planer can handle a full turn on this kind of wood but costs a lot more. This unit functions does the job is quieter then the DeWalt version and has a dust port that can be hooked up to a shop vac with a fernco adapter from home Depot in the plumbing section. All in all I'm not dissatisfied with the unit. Other major draw back was a 13" peice won't go threw. Gas a cutting board that got stuck in the middle and had to save down the sides just a little bit.

The stand is a disadvantage.
After assembling the stand and the Planer, the infeed and outfeed table's height is only 24" above the floor or just above the knees. This is too low unless you can grab a folding chair and operate this planer from a seated position. This is OK for small pieces but feeding an 8' long piece of material means you need to bend over and walk the piece into the planer and then walk it out, also in a hunched over position. The Planer itself (sans stand) is designed to be benchtop mounted. It says so right in the item description: "...13 inch benchtop Planer...." If the bench is 32" high, the feed in deck will be at 36", a more comfortable operating position than with the supplied stand. Also, the item suffered freight damage with a cracked base in the left front corner. It's a 70 pound (32 kg) product so not easily managed by a delivery driver. The carton is 2 ply cardboard but the Styrofoam is very thin so damage can occur. Because I am a senior, repackaging and returning the whole product was too daunting a task so I am using the planer on the 24" tall stand. Not the best arrangement for this old man. This manufacturer makes a few models, some with variable speed cutting knives. They have 2 blade or 3 blade cutting knives. The 3 blade increases the number of cuts per inch by 50% for the same feed speed so be vigilant checking the specifications. More knives means a smoother finish. Finally, the specifications on the Amazon site has incorrect measurements. The image from the Amazon site says the product, on the stand, is 27.4” tall. The product is actually 37” tall to the top of the planer and 40” to the top of the thickness adjuster crank handle.

Serviceable, not fantastic, flawed
It works ok, but you can’t take much of a pass with it in air-dried pine.I bought this for a friend because he had some very clear pine he wanted to use for flooring. It was a long process.Chios didn’t extract well (this really needs to be used with a powered dust collector) and that left chips on the rollers and that affected the surface results with the texture of the chips that rolled through. The poor chip control then makes it feed poorly. UgghAfter 2 or 3 twelve-foot boards the planer started tripping it’s breaker.I like to try a lot of cheaper, non-critical tools and am often satisfied even with some compromises but this is a tool I would not purchase again nor would I recommend.
