Elegant Solution
This little brace gets five stars because it is exactly what we mean in engineering when we talk about "elegant" solutions. It addresses a significant issue in a clever, simple way and it doesn't create any new or additional problems. And it's inexpensive, good value for money. For the reviewers reporting that the brace falls out of position: I haven't had the problem, but it looks easy to fix if you do. A dab or two of double-sided tape would surely take care of it.Threads too loose? I don't have that problem. When the brace is extended to a snug fit between clamp and WSPA base, the increased friction from compression prevents counter-rotation of the two parts. I can see how that could happen, of course. If it did, I'd just wrap tape bridging the two pieces of the brace. Easy to do, easy to change.I think the reviewer who said that s/he could get equal results without the brace is probably right. Most of us who have been sharpening for a while can get an acceptable edge for rough work freehand, using a sidewalk as a whetstone (pleased don't do that with good knives!). A little flex in the clamp might be no big deal for many sharpeners. There is no question, though, that this little brace makes accuracy and consistent pressure easier to achieve. It's simple physics. If the clamp isn't flexing and the knife isn't twisting and bouncing it's pretty much automatic that accuracy and consistency will improve.OK, obviously I really like this little gadget. And it's delivered quickly for eight bucks! Heckuva deal.

Proper piece of kit
I give this a higher review than the sharpener. Sharpener is kinda rubbish without it. Quite a bit less rubbish with it in place. No issues. Very easy to use. Be mindful, working under the edge, but.. all in all, very good.Make sure you use an inclinometer. This may alter your angle readings.

Simple design and easy to use.
Works as advertised.

OK
Thread pitch too steep and tolerance too great to hold steady. Requires frequent adjustment. If extend the brace to the point of snugness that holds threads in place better, you alter the angle of the sharpener arm holding the blade. I may try some Teflon tape over the threads.

Clever Accessory for your worksharp.
Great tool for making sharpening easier. I wish the screw was a little more snug, but works as intended.

Must have product right here
Works great, takes about 90 to 95% of the flex out. Especially when used with the table clamp. Great job guys.
