The Cupcake Diaries: Recipes and Memories from the Sisters of Georgetown Cupcake

Although I enjoyed reading about their lives and how it all started I was very disappointed in the recipes.....it seems that a gremlin got in the calculator when downsizing from industrial quantities to the home baker. Quantities are way off and it shows that the recipes were not tested once downsized. For 12 red velvet cupcakes the recipe calls for 3 1/4 cups flour!!!! Just reading the quantities it is obvious that something is wrong. Lot's of the other recipes are the same....making up to 30 cupcakes when it states 12. What a shame as the book is really interesting. The girls are always talking about perfection in their show yet they have let themselves down bigtime with the recipes in their book....they should have been checked.

I purchased this book with cupcakes in mind after having watched the series on TV. Although it is not full of cupcake recipes there are more than enough to be getting on with. I enjoyed reading the sisters background/family. Where the inspiration for the recipes came from and where it all started.It made for a very interesting read.

I wish i had read the reviews. There is something really wrong with the quantises. The girls could not possibly have tried the recipes out using the conversion chart.I have found another conversion baking chart which says a cup of flour is 5 ounces not 8, that makes a huge difference.

I'm very happy for this cookbook A LOT of GOOD RECIPES.

There should be more recipes and fewer memories.It's too personal for my taste, I thought it was more about the recipes.

This book is great first seen them on tv they have made Some really different shaped cupcake s they are great

Bought after becoming obessessed with the DC Cupcake series that was on food network, so thought i would see what their book was like. Brilliant buy, would definatly recommend to anyone. Nice stories of how they started their business ect and also history of the recipes. Would definatly recommend the banana split cupcakes and also the maple ones yummy!! Only negative is probably a tad pricey but hey ho thats how it goes.

A real delicious book. Nice pictures, lovely stories and most of all, recepies for jummy cupcakes. I have tried some of the recipies and they were lovely!(And I sure am no Nigella Lawson....) So everybody can do this! Nice Christmas present!
