Light Up My Life
I bought my 2006 Cooper S Convertible in 2012. It had low miles and was in great shape. My only complaint has been the OEM halogen headlamp bulbs. They are from a bygone era and fall well short of today’s standards.I tried to find a suitable xenon retrofit kit, but that felt overwhelming, so I just kept the headlights as originally designed and built.Over the years, I have generally only driven this car locally during daylight hours. I have on numerous occasions quit work early in winter so I could make the 11-mile winding country road drive from my workshop to my home before darkness set in.As is common on cars of this age and era, the headlights had gone dull and yellow by the time of covid. It’s a depressing appearance for a car owner who takes some measure of pride in their vehicles. So during a recent tuneup at my local foreign car guru, I splurged and had them perform a headlight restoration service. About $150.When I picked up my now 20-year-old Mini, I couldn’t believe how much better it looked. And yet, the tired old halogen bulbs just couldn’t see too well at night. That prompted me once again to look into possible solutions. LED lighting has come a long way in 13 years.A fair amount of research led me to these drop in H7 replacement bulbs from Termitor. I ordered 4 of them Thursday, they arrived today. Two for low beams, and two for high beams.Replacing the lamps in my car was ridiculously straightforward once I found a good instructional video on YouTube. The improvement is astounding. The lamps fired right up. They flicker for about 5 seconds when I first start the car, after which they charge up and stabilize. If they continue to work as well as they seem to so far, and prove to be durable, I will feel about as good as I possibly could about the way this all went.My 2006 is still a cream puff. Only 40,126 original miles, it is a turbo-charged 6-speed manual drive bulldog of a go-kart! My land dingy! It lives a charmed life.In the first two photos, you can see oem halogen bulbs on the right, alongside the new Termitor bulbs on left, low beams, then high beams. In photos 3 and 4 are new Termitor bulbs, low and high beams.

LED light for 2020 TriumphBonneville T120
I bought this light to replace the bulb in the headlight of a 2020 Triumph Bonneville T120. The original light lasted about 6000 miles when the low beam burned out. I replaced it with a Sylvania Quartz Halogen bulb, which was an improvement. That one lasted about the same time before the low beam burned out again. The low beam remains on whenever the ignition is on. I thought I'd try an LED light. This light uses the same H4 base, and draws about 70% of the wattage of the incandescent bulb that came with the bike or the quartz halogen bulb I replaced it with. The Amazon equipment compatibility app said it wouldn't fit, but the base connections and size look the same and I used it anyway. It fit and works perfectly. It's much brighter, and allows me to read road signs and speed limit signs in darkness at about the same distance as I can in daylight. The low beam has a broad dispersal pattern, and the high beam has a more focused distant pattern without the near diffusion and dispersal. The headlight housing was also cool to the touch after a half hour ride in darkness, mainly on high beam. I haven't had any problems with the electronics of the bike with this light. The downside-the light is bright enough to decrease ones visual dark adaptation driving on a rural road in the wee hours. I found my peripheral and direct vision en looking to the side and making turns or entering a parking lot was pretty much gone. While some of that is probably me, it's also due to the brightnss of the light. It doesn't happen in my 4 wheeled vehicles. But, the reason I tried an LED light was to improve visualization in front at night. This bulb does, and had no compatibility issues. If it lasts as long as the quartz halogen bulb, I'd replace it with the same thing.

Great replacement for halogen bulb
Bought this to replace OEM halogen bulb on 2015 Honda CTX700. Bulb was a perfect fit to the original housing. Just unplug the old bulb, pop it out, plug this one in and fire it up. New bulb is whiter, brighter, and field of view is improved. Low beam has appropriate cut off at the top so it doesn't blind oncoming drivers. High beam travels a long distance, but at the expense of near field light directly in front of the bike. This isn't a big deal, if you're using high beams to see at night you're probably focusing down the road anyway. This is definitely an upgrade from OEM, I feel safer running this light both during the day and at night. RECOMMENDED.

Cheaper and better than your OEM bulbs
First of all you should know that LED bulbs a lot more efficient than headlights that are incandescent. With filaments. You'll be running a fraction of the amount of current which means if you accidentally leave your lights on it's going to take a day before it drains your battery instead of 2 hours with regular bulbs. A lot more of the energy that the bulbs use is output as light, whereas incandescent 99% of the energy is dissipated as heat. LED runs cooler, outputs more light, and uses less energy than your stock incandescent bulbs. For most of my customers, LED lights are lasting about 2 and 1/2 years before one of them will go out, and these really nice LED units cost $10 less then going and getting a pack of regular incandescent bulbs from autozone. And the incandescence usually go out in the same amount of time. Like, the obsolescence built into LED units is perfect for matching the life of incandescent bulbs and I especially like the fact that there are tiny little fans that keep the bulb itself cooler for its little PC board, they used to be big things on the back which would limit what models you could put these in, however these new Styles will always fit any application because they are the exact same dimensions of the incandescent light bulbs that are stock on many vehicles
