Made in Japan: Awe-Inspiring Japanese Graphics

This is a gift for a friend that studies graphic design

As a designer and illustrator, you just never know what might inspire you at a given moment. Personally, I like having a library around me that I can browse through. Victionary has so often produced quality books and this one is definitely a standout. There is just enough text here to give details on the client, agency and intention or concept of each piece, but the main thing for me with this book is the wealth of beautiful and wide ranging design work.

Starts off with a few interviews of design agencies, then goes straight into portfolio highlights of a bunch of Japanese design agencies. Tons of inspiration for graphic/packaging/store design. Packed with lots of pictures, so works well as an inspiration book you can flip through.

As with all Victionary titles, this one is also a superb book both in its quality of contents and the book itself as a design object. It has numerous graphics design examples from Japan.
