Great tripod!
Bought as requested for my son who is an avid amateur photographer. He texted me later w/a pic of his beloved 24mpx Canon slr mounted on it, saying he loves it. He is discriminating about anything he buys, very particular.

Purchased this for an art class. I use it mostly for a table top tripod but I like having the option of using it other ways. It isn't super sturdy but it does the job!

Low Quality Product Backed by No Customer Service / Support - Avoid Sunpack!
With over 40 years of experience I consider myself fairly knowledgeable about camera gear.Bought this tripod as a gift for my beginner niece from a local camera superstore. It was the recommendation of the salesman who said that you would have to spend at least double to get something marginally better (high quality full sized tripods start more like $250 and up). However, upon first use, removing the quick release plate resulted in a couple of springs being ejected and shot across the room. The quick release plate no longer locks into place.Worse than the fact that the unit is defective is that Tocad (the importer or distributor of Sunpack products) does not answer their phones or email messages. They have a voice mail box to take your message but they never call back. They have an email address but do not respond. This tripod is going back to the store and I will spend $30 more for a Manfrotto MKCOMPACTACN-BK . Their low end tripod could not possibly be worse than this one, and, more importantly, Manfrotto actually has great customer service. Manfrotto is the value brand I have used for years for some very high quality tripods. Gitzo are more desirable mostly because they are lighter, but they also make your wallet much lighter as they are generally triple the price. This Sunpack 6000PG was a terrible recommendation by Adorama camera, a store that I am otherwise quite fond of.

Spend the extra money on better tripod.
I had to purchase a new tripod, because the one of the legs on my old one broke. I liked the unit, and ordered the same model as the broken one. However, when I tried it use it, head didn't support my camera when a long lens was attached. I contacted the company and they quickly sent a new head. The head they sent was like my old tripod, it worked better.

Good for a small travel tripod
Good for a small travel tripod, for use with a point and shoot camera. DO NOT USE with a medium/large DSLR/lens. It will not support the weight.
