Dirt Devil Extreme Power Wet/Dry Cordless Hand Cleaner-M0944, Gray

This a very powerful handheld vacuum and ruggedly built.I bought it primarily for my motor vehicles and it will easily suck up rock salt crystals and small pebbles, as well as the usual crud from the carpets.I haven't used it for liquids yet but I'm confident that it will do the job! The battery charge is more than sufficient to clean two vehicles.Two small criticisms:1. there is this weird little brush gizmo that sticks out of the bottom of the nozzle that looks pretty flimsy.However, even if it eventually breaks off, I don't think it will affect the performance.2. Mounting the charging plate to the wall is somewhat illogical. There are two stout tabs which block the mounting holes which I had to knock out before I could insert the screws. I attempted to contact the manufacturer for advice but they never responded to my email inquiry. Bad customer service!

Bought this just over 6 months ago and it no longer holds a charge. Thought it might have something to do with the way we had it mounted on the wall but we took it off the wall and the problem persists. The red light come s on like it's charging but the charge does not last long at all. You literally hear the power leaving the device and have to hurry to get the dirt picked up before it runs out. Seems to be a common problem based on all the reviews. Not really what I would expect from Dirt Devil.Contacted them and was told that I had to do the following for the warranty to be honored:*****What I want for you to do is unplug the charger from the outlet for 45 seconds then plug it back inThen I want you to plug the charger back into the outlet and connect the unit to the chargerLeave the unit on charge for a full 24 hours. Then call back to test the unit so we can see if the unit is holding a proper charge after the reset processWhen you call into Customer Care after the reset process reference case number 03882013Make sure to call into Customer Care to test the unit. Dirt Devil Customer Service 800-321-1134 Monday - Friday 8am to 6pm EST****I had already done that yesterday, as well as a variation of these steps many times over the past few months to figure out what's going on with it. So I asked if I could just call the number today and was told that i could not, it has to be 24 hours after I make the first report. Not a very good customer experience...Update: I performed the steps as requested and contacted Customer Service as instructed. They made me run the handvac so they could hear the battery fade, which it did. They sent me an email requesting the receipt which I provided. Today I got an email stating that the device was sold to me by a seller who was unauthorized to do so which null and voids the warranty. They offered to give me a discount code for my next purchase.

Powerful vac while it worked. Worked good for the first 1-2 years, then started loosing charge after 2 min. of vacuuming, but at least could be re-charged. After 3rd year wouldn't hold charge at all and maintained some weak suction for 10 seconds before dyeing completely. I tried to see if i could replace rechargeable battery, but there is no provision for that. Dirt Devil doesn't sell replacement. I opened the van and found that the rechargeable battery pack is hard-wired and not replaceable. At this point the unit went straight to trash!

This is a great little hand vac.I'm a stay at home dad with a toddler running around ask day with goldfish and cheerios in the living room.this vac not only picks up the large pieces off the foor, but the crushed up grinded in slobbered on mess as well. The only thing holding me back from giving it a5 star review is the charging base, and the built in crevice tool. First off the base when attached to the wall seems up side down. You feel like its just barely hanging on waiting to slam on the floor at first little vibration, but mine is mounted right beside the dryer and hasn't budged yet. It feels like it should be the other way and it would sit better, but I really can't complain, it haven't fallen yet. The built in crevice tool works great, its just a little awkward to get in place. It needs to be sporting loaded so that when you press the button it pops up. As is when you slide the...switch I guess, it didn't seem to move.you have to stock your finger in the hole and pull it up and over to get it in place.then slide it back like your cocking a gun. All in all these turn out to either non issues, or not really big issues at all. The vac has plenty of power as long a you clean the filter and canister, and you don't expect a shop vac. The battery life is great, I've never had it die on me. I charge it every few days and use it every day in between all day long here and there. Oh and its not super loud.

The media could not be loaded.    I haven't used it extensively yet, but the small test I did so far makes me very happy. I put water in a bowl and was able to suck it dry in seconds. That is exactly why I bought this. I highly recommend this vacuum just based on that.Update: I loved this vacuum. I used it all the time, for wet and dry messes. It suddenly stopped working and won't even charge. I think i cleaned up too large of a liquid mess and killed the motor. Water was coming out of the "gills" on the side before I turned it off, and now it won't turn on. I plan to buy another one and just be more careful with how much liquid I clean up at one time.

We have a problem with the slot between the container and filter getting clogged with lint. Not sure what the purpose of it is but it needs to be wider or removed altogether. We only use in the kitchen area for dry pickup and it may serve a purpose for wet pickup. Very powerful and a good design on the switch. Worth the money even with my clogging problem.6 month update: WORTHLESS !! Sometimes when you go to use it and take it off the charger the battery is dead and sometimes it works. We thought it was heavy and pulling away from the charging connections so we tried putting the charger on the floor. That didn't work either. The charger may be bad but there is no way to test it other than to look for the red charging light to be on

Absolutely love it ! Makes life so much easier in a small apartment with 2 adults and one dog. Lots of hair fluffs pop up on a daily basis... now I just grab the hand vacuum and whisk them up. No more having to use the broom or dust mop which just sends them flying all over the room. Also.it is so quick and easy to clean, even after cleaning up the dog's spilled water bowl mess. The extend nozzle lets me get into corners and small spaces that before only the broom could deal with. And the sweep up brush and powerful suction allows it to pick up small rocks and debris tracked in from outside. What's not to like?!

A nice gadget to have on hand to clean up every day spills and messes, the Dirt Devil M0944 sounds great on paper, but fails to live up to expectations. Suction is satisfactory, having enough power to clean up things like cereal and dry dog food, but it won't blow you away with it's power. What I like the most about this unit is that it can clean up liquid spills, too. I really like being able to suck up most of a spill and save my paper towels. This unit can also be easily disassembled for cleaning, and most of the pieces handled my dishwasher just fine.The charging base is quite compact and includes some little holes on the bottom that can be used to mount it to a wall. Once sitting in the base, the unit charges very slowly over about 12 hours. One charge does not last long (just a few minutes), so hopefully you only have one or two messes to clean in a day, otherwise you will start falling behind while waiting for this to recharge.This could have easily been awarded four stars, the short battery life I could work with, but like the other reviewers, my unit stopped charging after only a few months of use. This is simply unacceptable, and as it seems to be a trend, I cannot recommend this item as a purchase.

We have no problem using it. Only thing is it takes too long to recharge a 2 minutes vacuumming. Other than that we are happy.
