Turbo Jam Punch, Kick & Jam

Love this workout!!
I have been using Turbo Jam as a part of my workout regimen for a few years now, and I really love it. Just recently, however, I started looking into some of the newer workouts in this program, including "Turbo Jam: Punch, Kick and Jam", and this workout quickly became my favorite! This is a GREAT workout, and even though I've probably done it well over 100 times by now, I still find the workout very challenging. It still gets my heart rate and my breathing up in no time! One thing that I really like about this workout in particular is that I don't think it's quite as cheesy as some of the older Turbo Jam workouts. Don't get me wrong; I still use those workouts, too. But for example, at the beginning of the DVD, Chalene says that this workout is a little less "dancy", which I think is definitely true. It utilizes more traditional fitness moves (squats, jumping jacks, etc.) and martial arts moves than some other TJ workouts, which I personally like. Another thing I like about this workout, which also goes for some of the other more recently made TJ DVDs, is that I find the music to be much better than in the older workouts. It's still dance or club music, but I think it's more current and more up-tempo, which keeps me more motivated and energetic throughout. So, I definitely would recommend this workout to other Turbo Jam enthusiasts!

AMAZING ATHLETIC WORKOUT
My sister introduced me to Turbo Jam and Chalene Johnson about 5 weeks ago. I absolutely loved the workout and Chalene. For me, it has become a daily habit. I purchased this workout to expand my current selections. This workout is athletic, intense, fun and motivating! It can be modified to all cardio, fitness levels and is a great whole body workout. In addition, while I am young, I am prone to knee injuries. I have been amazed that I can do Turbo Jam workouts @6 days a week, without my knee brace, and get such an intense workout without any damage to my knees. Chalene is an energetic and smart instructor. However, if you have not done Turbo Jam before or don't have access to her "Learn and Burn" dvd, you may need to take time to learn her signature moves as well as her verbal prompts attached to the transitions throughout the workout. This is only due to the fact that this workout is advanced and assumes a titch of prior knowledge of Turbo Jam. In summary, a fantastic workout that is so engaging that time goes by so quickly; yet, you end truly feeling like you have had a great, body valuable workout!

Good but not my favorite Turbo Jam
I already own the "5 Rockin' Workouts" (includes Cardio Party Mix #1), Cardio Party Mix #2 and Cardio Party Mix #3 - I love all three DVD's and was looking to add to my collection for variety. So I ordered Punch, Kick & Jam...I tried it and it's OK - it's exercise but there are a lot of new people and it doesn't appear they practiced too much before taping it. Sometimes it appears not well put together. It is less dancy than the others (which Chalene says in the beginning) and it still gave me a workout but it's just not my favorite. I'll keep it in my rotation of Turbo Jam DVD's when I'm looking for something different. Definitely not the DVD for Turbo Jam beginners!UPDATE: I updated my rating from 3 to 4 stars - after I tried the workout a few more times, it kind of grows on you. I like the music (more techno-ish) and I'm getting used to the routines. Still not my favorite but I like it in my mix of DVDs.

Fun intense workout thats over before you know it!!!
I bought this workout looking for something to get me past my plateau. I am glad I bought it, because I am finally on my way to losing those last 15 pounds. I already lost 5 pounds in the past 3 three weeks by adding the advanced turbo jam workouts. I didn't buy the first set of turbo jam workouts and when I first viewed this workout I thought oh, my this is too complicated I should have purchased the first set. My friend has the first set so, I borrowed hers to get the moves down ,but found it wasn't much of a help. If you view this workout a couple of times before you do the workout it should help. The more and more I do this workout the moves are easier to pick up. Now that I have almost gotten the routine down it just alot more fun to do. I am glad I didn't give up on this workout!!!! The cues are there if you listen and are focused as you do this workout. Very, very fun intense workout!!!!

Love Turbo Jam
I use to participate in a lot of TURBO KICK classes 8-9 years ago. Unfortunately, my work schedule changed and I was sitting behind a desk, and because of my new work hours, no Turbo Kick Classes. I recently retired from work, but being retired, I had to change a few things. One of those things were dropping a gym membership from 24hr Fitness Gyms that was costing me about $40 a month. But I also needed to get back into cardio shape. That's where I found this TURBO JAM Video. I'm slowly working myself back into shape, but I love it! I do this video 3 times a week...the rest of the week, I ride my Road Bike.

It could be much better, but it gets you moving
Is this a great workout to get you moving?Yes. I used my heart monitor yesterday and my heart rate got up to 166 at certain times. I had been doing exercises previously to starting the DVD, so I think that might be a little higher than normal. You will sweat. Is the instructor completely annoying?Yes! She is less obnoxious than most DVD exercise instructors with motivational talk throughout the workout but there are times when she is not doing the right thing. She needs to concentrate on the workout and doing it properly so it is easier to learn and follow rather than being bubbly.Does it make me do the workout despite wanting to throw something at the TV?Yes. I can not stand some things about this. I cringe at what she considers an upper cut, if the pace was slowed just a bit to concentrate of form it would be a better workout...and a lot safer, and the DVD is in need of some editing. But so far I have gone back and used it about twice a week and I do look forward to doing it.Bottom Line: This COULD be such a great DVD if they fixed some things, but the energy and overall workout make you want to do it again and again. I would suggest that if you buy it and do not like it, do it at least 5 times before you rule it out.

Great workout!
If you like the Turbo Jam workouts and want to add to your rotation, I recommend this one. Has some resistance band training but mostly cardio. You can keep it low impact with modifications.
