I took a cab ride to a doctor's appointment and the driver had one of these prayer wheels spinning on his dash. He was also playing music from India on his radio. The combination just made me stupid happy. When I got home I looked to see if Amazon was selling them, and yes! they do! I ordered one which now sits near a window. It needs a decent light source to spin, since it is solar powered. It makes a little noise as it spins, but that doesn't bother me. Such a wonderfully spiritual source of joy, and a call to prayer, whatever one's tradition.

What an unexpected delight this has been for us. Received it as a gift from a friend and have since bought a second one to give to another friend. We placed it in our southwest-facing dining room window and it spins for hours. The Tibetan tradition of gathering blessings is alive and well as we go about our daily routines around the dining room table. The prayer wheel is a great reminder to stop, breathe, and wake up to the present moment.

I love this prayer wheel...the only issue is the noise it makes when rotating. I love the design and the energy though.

I like this and it does work after you place it in direct sunlight and give it a turn, but it is a bit cheap looking.
