Does Exactly What I Needed
I have a home theater system with multiple HDMI, analog and digital inputs to an Onkyo AV receiver. Needed to connect headphones via the optical digital output from the Onkyo so I could listen at a different volume level than output from the sound system and without blocking the speakers. The Onkyo passes through to its optical output what ever digital format is contained in the program information (PCM, Dolby, DTS, etc.) so I needed a decoder that could handle them all. I connected the FiiO D07 input to the Onkyo optical output and the FiiO analog output to a Dayton DTA 120 amp to drive my headphones. It works flawlessly with zero delay. I had tried a SONY 2.4 mHz wireless headset for my application but it had far too much signal delay which led to very annoying echo when the main speakers were turned on. The combination of the FiiO decoder and Dayton amp has no noticalbe echo. I'm very pleased

Works for the Panisonic GT series Television
We have an older stereo system that does not support coaxial or optical inputs, so this is just the ticket. The D7 supports the optical DTS output of the Panasonic and the sound comes through beautifully. It does not filter the sound so all the over-the-air (OTA) sound pops and cracks come through also but on strong signals that has not been a issue. Other than trying to figure out the age old issue of the long cabling (optical, power and rca analog) the setup and connections were simple and quick. Just wish I had thought of and gotten this before watching some many AMAZON PRIME Action Movies, guess this is a reason to rewatch all of them : ) .

Works great with my Panasonic Plasma TV
This device works great with my Panasonic 50" Plasma TV (Model TC-P50x1). This TV has only an optical out so I didn't have any other way to get sound out to my old RCA-jack receiver with no optical in. It does the D-to-A (ATSC, PCM, Dolby) conversion and sounds so much better when played through my receiver/speakers than through the TV speakers (which aren't very good on this TV). I was looking at the Genfen GTV-DD-2-AA which is quite popular, but many reviewers had premature failures with that device. The FIIO D07 was a little less expensive too. This little box just does what it is supposed to do with my TV.

Does everything I wanted it to do!
We purchased a new blu-ray and, like apparently all new players, it only has HDMI and digital optical outputs. So there was no way to connect it to our legacy (red and white RCA jacks) Onkyo 5.1 surround sound system. My husband spent literally hours on-line reviewing adapters trying to find one that would produce a signal that the Onkyo would be able to decode. There were no definitive reviews on any of the products confirming that they could do this. So we took a chance and ordered the FIIO D07. The converter took just minutes to connect and when everything was turned on we got all of the quality sound we were accustomed to!The cost of the FIIO D07 was higher than some of the other converters out there, but it was well worth it. The unit is solidly built. It comes with a USB charger and an optical cable which brings the cost down compared to those where the cable isn’t included. We have the D07 powered through a USB port on our direct TV receiver, so we got a spare USB charger out of the deal.I would highly recommend this product. It was much cheaper than replacing our whole surround sound system to get compatibility with digital optical!

Works but some noise
We like the cables that came with the set as we didn't have to hunt these down --- a plus. No problem installing. We are using on a Panasonic Viera 37" HD TV with audio digital output only. The TV may output either digital or PCM (linear). The Converter works good except for background noise that we have been unable to track down. We have changed circuits; plugged and unplugged anything that might be causing the noise. Luckily, my husband's hearing is so bad that he doesn't hear the noise the way I do. Other than the noise, a very positive experience.

Better build quality than I expected
Better build quality than I expected. It works great. I don't use it that much, I mainly use my speakers with my computer, and just needed this guy to be able to also plug the TV.But so far so good.

Good Product, Good Price
The Fiio D07 DAC is a great product. I used it to connect my LG digital tv to my old Denon AV receiver. I have gone totally internet on my tv. Now, I can enjoy great sound on Netflix, Pandora, and YouTube. I am quite pleased.

Excellent product
Product as described and working perfectly. This model passes Dolby encoding so decoders can pick up information - mine is passing through a vintage Dolby decoder. Recommend highly.
