Eagle s new series Eagle Classics brings together two original Eagle Records CD releases into a single set for the first time. This release combines two studio albums from the late Willy DeVille, Crow Jane Alley from 2004 and Pistola from 2008. From his breakthrough with Mink DeVille and their smash hit Spanish Stroll in 1977, Willy DeVille produced a masterful body of work featuring his unique blend of rock, soul, R&B, blues and Cajun with articulate lyrics and Willy's distinctive vocal style. These were the last two studio albums before Willy's death from cancer at the age of just 58 in 2009. These are two great albums worthy of inclusion in any fan's collection.

Solid DeVille
I don't know how I missed this one when it was first released. I've been a fan of Willy Deville since the early Mink Deville days, and tried to keep up with his released over the years. Anyway, I absolutely loved this album. Great songs, including the Roxy Music cover, plus the always superb vocals. If you are a fan, this is one that you need!

I was only vaguely familiar with Willy DeVille but had heard some things that I liked. I bought this MP3 on spec based on a very positive review I had read. I was not misled. This is a terrific collection of tunes. Now all I have to do is figure out which DeVille offering I'll be buying next...and I will definitely be buying another one.

Willie D’Ville
Liked the guy since I heard River of Tears, and Demasiado Corazón. Bought this double CD for the memories. Apparently it might take several listens, but he is cool. 4 Stars.

Another Great CD!
If you are a fan of Willy Deville you will not be disappointed with this CD.If I was forced to pick a favorite song on this CD it would be,"Crow Jane Alley".I think I stumbled onto what it is that is so darn wonderful about this amazing artist and that is this: When Willy sings he is wholly present in the moment of that song.I think that is why the listener feels as if he is singing directly to you.

Eine LP, an der es qualitativ absolut nichts zu bemängeln gibt, erhält man heutzutage nicht alle Tage.Blitzsauber, plan ohne Pressrückstände, keine Pressfehler, Top Sound.@EarMusic: Danke das Ihr Presswerke beauftragt die noch wissen wie makelloses Vinyl gepresst wird.Sollten sich andere Major-Labels mit ihren Billig-Presswerken mal eine Scheibe von abschneiden. Genauer gesagt: mal erkundigen wo diese LPs gepresst wurden. Dann habt ihr mit Euren krummen Pressungen bestimmt weniger Rückläufe...

Pour un prix modique, l'acquisition de ce coffret permet de se procurer deux excellents CD de Willy Deville...D'abord "Crow jane alley" un des meilleurs disque de cet artiste en solo ou vibre une ambiance "Tex mex louisianaise" du meilleur aloi et le second "Pistola" plus classique dans le style "Willy". Un bon achat que je conseille vivement à chacun...

Anche gli eroi riposano
Non uno dei dischi migliori del Grande Pirata gentiluomo.Non si può stare sempre con i nervi a fior di pelle...A volte si riposa un pochino.Ma a ben ascoltare qualche piccolo gioiello, per chi ha buone orecchie, salta fuori.
