Motorola Xoom Standard Dock (Bulk Packaging)

I don't usually write reviews but I made it a point to get up this morning and write this review. I must say I am extremely happy. My XOOM has been in a basket for about a year in a half (notice the smudged screen on the picture) because I have been unable to charge it. I bought one of those fancy (and more expensive) docks with the speakers and it would not work. My XOOM would not fit in it no matter how hard I forced it and I ended up sending it back to Amazon. A few days ago while making a purchase I saw this cheap dock as an add on and I thought what can it hurt, so I ordered it and got it yesterday. My XOOM not only fit, but the charging light lit immediately when I plugged it in. So for those who mentioned it was for a phone and not the XOOM, I have to disagree. When I woke up the light was green. I took it off the charger and low and behold it worked like new. This has been a Godsend because I had pictures and other things on there that I wanted. So here's the deal. It does not come in any fancy packaging or with any instruction. It also does not come with the plug to charge it. But I think most people should already have one if they have a XOOM (I dug mine out of a box)... and since the price of the dock is so cheap you can add on a charger and get the whole thing for less than $15.00.My take is that I don't know how long it will last but hey for the price and to get my 32G tablet back functioning, I will definitely buy it again. Hopefully this will help someone who is trying to decide.

this item is beyond wonderful. i have my tablet sitting at my work desk, and i struggled charging it and listening to it at the same time. this solved that problem. it has a port in the back for plugging in headphones and the charger. i have no audio problems, no charging problems. i don't see a green light like some people mention, but like the tablet, maybe that light only shows up when it's turned off. it is really fun that once the table gets placed in the dock, it displays the clock screen. i don't really need this, as i don't use it for an alarm or anything, but it's a nice feature none the less.

Only down side is this item still uses the stupid Motorola Xoom charging chord. The whole reason I wanted this is because I wanted to be able to use a mini usb or more durable charging chord. This does help with the chord breaking, but I still have to work with that stupid original charger. but this item itself is really nice and I wouldn't hesitate to buy it as long as you have the chord to turn it on. I do fully believe having this will help prevent the chord from breaking.

The title for this posting has the word power in it. It does not come with a power adapter. I spent $15 on this tablet holder, when I wanted to charge the damn thing, when I could have spent eight bucks and gotten exactly what I wanted. Very disappointed.

I purchased this as a second dock for my office so that I can have one at home and one in the office. It was a great price and works just as well as the original one I got with the tablet. Be aware that this is just the dock and does not include the power cable. It doesn't really say that in the listing. I caught it because below in the "Recently purchased together..." part of the listing it showed a cable as a separate item.For the price, this was no big deal, so I was aware at the time of purchase that it did not come with the cable. That could confuse someone if they don't read the entire listing. All that said the dock works great and I have had no issues with it. If the need arises for another one, I will defiantly purchase one of these again.

If you own a XOOM tablet, you need either this doc, or the speaker dock. They solve the problem of the fragile power jack on the XOOM. The dock uses the two contacts on the bottom of the tablet to charge, so it will work even if the power jack does not. The tablet detects when it is in the dock. By default, it turns into a clock when powered off, and in the dock - handy if you set it up on your night stand. I do not use the audio out or the sync capabilities of the dock, so I can not comment on how well they work.

this is great dock for my xoom! i just ordered it, now that the price has dropped, and i absolutely love it! i like that it keeps my tablet upright while my device is charging. it also has a speaker port so you can attach a corded speaker! if you own a xoom, you know how cumbersome simultaneously using the charging port and the speaker port is (since they are on opposite sides of the device).

These are fabulous for charging Motorola Xoom tablets. If the charging port stops working over time or is working intermittently then this is a great solution because it does not use the same charging port as the plug in single prong chargers.
