Great value and esp. good for small hands.
My kids also have this set as well as the Firefly, Maverick, Recon, Night-Finder, and a few others from another manufacturer. Overall, this is a very good value. We tested the load-fire-reload rate of all our guns, and these shoot just as far, and are the fastest within one minute. Their other Nerf guns have rapid fire up to 8 darts, but the reload time takes much longer. These Strikefire guns can only shoot one dart at a time, but it can shoot all the different types of darts, while the guns that use clips can only shoot 1 type. The kids like the Suction cup and Whisler tip darts the most. The vest works, but the kids don't use them. Instead, they prefer to use the glasses and fire darts at each other, esp. the head. We tried the "shoot only under the neck" rule, but that was impossible to enforce. The foam darts seem very safe, as long as they wear their glasses (which is an absolute requirement if they want to play with the nerf guns.) Their favorite battle is to use barriers in our large family/rec room, and to shoot at each other across the room. Playing indoors makes it a lot easier to find the darts during and after the battle. Outdoor battles can be fun also, but more difficult to hit each other, and a lot harder to find all the darts. Buy extra darts to have longer battles. I think we have almost 200 darts, but still run out during a battle before we're ready to quit. Overall, very good play value. Just don't forget the glasses - it's very easy to get hit in the eye and never fun whenever someone gets hurt during a game.

Great for kids, but the vests won't fit most adults.
I bought this at a rediculously low price from Amazon, so I'm very happy with it. You get 2 guns, 2 vests, and a 12 darts (6 per person). The gun is really made for smaller hands, which makes this a perfect first nerf gun set for your kids. The guns are amazingly light, and cocking the gun was relatively easy even for small hands.Although the vests have adjustable neck and waist velcro ties, they still won't fit most adults, and will hang loosely around the smaller kids (like my 6 year old daughter).Definitely recommended for the smaller kids, adults may wish to get the bigger Nerf dart tag set (see Hasbro Nerf Dart Tag - 2 Player Set ). Now, if you're lucky like me and have 2 adults and 2 kids in the family, get one of each of the sets, and you can have fun pairing off one adult and kid with the other, since both sets each come with one red and one blue vest, and one red and blue gun!

FANTASTIC toy for the price!!
I bought this for my son's birthday so he would have something to play around with. I never expected this to be so much fun. Within minutes, every adult in the building wanted to play! It really brings out the kid in you and the children enjoy it as well. I just bought a second set of replacement darts to keep the fun going. I highly recommend this. Now for the downside:The darts sting a bit if hit anywhere other than the vest. I took one in the face and it hurt more than I expected :) It's essential the children (and adults alike) wear the glasses provided with this to avoid injury. The darts break fairly easily. I bought a refill pack of 36 and before our session was over, at least 5 of them lost the velcro tips. The guns are a bit difficult to pull back for the smaller children. They will need a bit of strength, but the amount of force required is 'learned' after a while.

Fun for hours of play
I got this for my best friend's son for Christmas. Her boyfriend's son also lives with them and I thought it would be a great joint gift for the two. Boy was I right! From the moment they opened it until their bedtime, they ran around the house "shooting" darts at each other. Unfortunately, one of the boys is younger, 6, and had a difficult time pulling back the toy to ready the next dart. As these boys are pretty young, 6 & 7, there was a lot of yelling and arguing involved in their play but overall the toy was a huge hit (at least with the boys, not necessarily the parents).

"So i get to SHOOT my brother?!"
I actually bought this set for my nephews (8 and 11) along with one of those mega-pack dart refills. A friend of ours brought his son over once to play with my son with some of these and we all had a blast (yes, even we adults) That was over a year ago, and I'm still finding darts in odd places (hence me buying the additional mega pack of refill darts. lol)The best news is, as a gift for my NEPHEWS, I am giving my brother the joy of darts flying over his lovely house! If that's not a gift that gives back 10 fold, I don't know what is! :)

Fun for 5-13 year olds!
This set is a perfect gift for 5-13 year old boys. My 5 years old can "cock" the gun with some effort and play with his brothers. The only complaint I have is about the safety glasses. They are designed more for 12 years old or older. They are too big for my kids who are younger than 10 years old. The boys are very happy with their present, they tell me NERF "DRAT TAG" rules!!!

Love it
My kids love this. The only prob we had with it is that it is hard to cock the gun. My 3 yr old had problems but he is 4 almost 5 now and has no problems. I suggest buying some extra bullets b/c it only come with enough to fill each gun. Also the bullets stick to almost all fuzzy things. I always get them stuck to my socks when cleaning up. I do not think this is just for kids. My husband plays this with them all the time.

Fun Toy!
We have 2 sets - the kids enjoy playing with the guns. They don't wear the vests often, however, they sometimes use them for target practice. The glasses are very nice to have, they help to keep the bullets out of the eyes.Overall, I'm very pleased. My daughter says these guns a better than some of the guns that hold many darts. She says although they don't hold as many darts, the guns are easy to load and the gun can be loaded on the run..... :D
