Love this pan!
Amazing pan! It's very large, leaving lots of room for mixing up pots of soup, stew, and pasta dishes. I cook a lot and have been searching for a pot like this for ages. Nothing sticks to it, it heats evenly, and it's a good weight (so as not to be too heavy when it's full and I need to strain pasta). This pot is also not made in China - mine says "Toledo, Ohio" on the bottom. I e-mailed Calphalon Customer Care to confirm that this pan was, in fact, made in the US (it is) and they sent me back a very detailed listing of where all of their different cookware lines are manufactured. Since I love this pan so much, that will come in handy when I add more pieces. If I had to change one thing about this pan, however, I would prefer that the bottom was not smooth. It could use some texture because it's not heavy and seems to want to slide around on the stovetop burners a bit. This is not a huge deal for me, as I make a habit of cooking with my larger pans on the rear burners anyway. But just in case you have little ones at home who like to be around the stovetop when you're cooking.... be aware of that.

Nice pan worth the money
*Update 1/2020. I still love these pans but do not try to bake sourdough bread in them at 450°. They hold up fine but the heat discolors the lid more each time. Still recommend for other uses! (Invest in cast iron for bread)I purchased this pan because I received 2 Calphalon Contemporary fry pans for Christmas last year and I love them! I decided to get rid of the rest of my pans and replace them with Calphalon to match. These are a nice sturdy pan. They look nice, easy clean-up, dishwasher safe, oven safe, and a lifetime warranty. I only wish the handle on the lid didn't get so warm while cooking. I would buy this pan again & I can't wait to use them at Thanksgiving!

Great pot with a major design flaw.
As great as this pot is, I couldn't give it a five star because the lid has a major design flaw. Water collects at the edge of the rim where the glass is attached to the metal frame. There is just no way to get the water out and it is disgusting. Other than that, the pot cooks well, not too heavy, but it is not a light weight either. Absolutely non stick, cleans well and all. I am thinking of getting a universal lid as a replacement for the lid because I can't just stand the flaw.

Really LARGE pot, a nice surprise!
I was trying to replace a Calphalon chili pot that was over a decade old, and was more focused on the height than the overall size. I was amazed when it arrived, because it is HUGE -- only 5inches high, as promised, but over 13 inches in diameter. I could not make sense of the measurements in the product description (4.97 inches x 17 inches x 13.25 inches), but the 17 inches must refer to the distance from handle to handle. So, this is twice as big as the pot I was replacing, but it means I will no longer be cooking bean soup that comes up to the brim of the former chili pot, and will have space to add whole ham hocks to soups. Luckily, I have a large stovetop burner the size of this pot. And it is fairly light in weight, which makes me glad, because it would be very hard to lift otherwise, when full.I will be ordering an actual chili pot of heavier weight, my original intention in addition to keeping this one, which was a nice surprise for the price! ($84 when I bought it.)
