Cheese Wire, 44'' Long, Piano Wire 0.6mm, Wood Handles

Too long to properly slice the 40lb block I had - My knife fared better. I'm sure it's usable for someone... just not me.I wish this was adjustable in some way, to wind the wire a bit to make it more usable, as it is, simply wrapping the wire around the handle made the handle painful to hold. Lesson learned.

I got it to cut layers in home-made cakes that I baked. It is sturdy and works fine for this. It allows you to separate several layers without shredding the whole cake. It is a bit long for this purpose, but cuts cleanly if kept taut.

Handy and well priced but I go through a few a year cutting wheels of cheese.

I purchased this wire for personal, home kitchen use. Clearly I didn't read the product description very carefully, as the wire is WAY TOO LONG for that use. Admittedly this was my own fault, but its intended purpose could have been called out more clearly on the page.

Good Item.
