Absolutely the best flashlight going
I first encountered this flashlight during a "ride along" with a police officer friend of mine. For a few weeks, while I was considering becoming a reserve police officer, the local police department was nice enough to allow me to ride along with my friend Dave, who is a police officer for our local department. All their police cars had the Mag RX1019's wired into the patrol cars. Now, I've had mag flash lights (the battery powered kind) over the years. However, when I first saw my friend light up the night with the RX1019, I couldn't believe how bright it was! I asked him what sort of flash light it was and he showed me it was a rechargeable mag. I was sort of shocked; after all, my mag light looked the same (sans the recharging stuff), but wasn't even half as bright. Dave explained it was because the mag light in the car was always fully charged.Wow, what a difference. After a few months of ride alongs, I decided against becoming a police officer. However, I did end up buying several of the Mag RX1019 flash lights. I even bought one for my Dad for Xmas.Let me tell you, this is about the best flash light you can buy. It's always charged and ready to go - you never have to look for batteries. It's super bright and really does an amazing job lighting up the night. In fact, it's practically like having a car headlight in your hand! :-) That's how bright this thing is. The flash light really takes a beating and is very well made. You can also buy aftermarket NiMH batteries if/when needed and these not only have no "memory effect", but double the charge capacity.Overall, short of spending hundreds of dollars, this is the best flash light money can buy in my opinion. I use mine constantly. I live out in the forest and this flash light works great for lighting up the night and/or when you want to shine it up into a distant tree to find an owl, etc. If you are looking for a top quality flash light, this is the one to get. I'd give it 10 stars if I could.. that's how fantastic a light it is.

Excellent product for upgrade.
The Mag Charger, as all MagLites, is an American icon-- we all love them and love using Mag's! Although there are many products on the market which are superior (as with the Harley-Davidson) I still like my MagLite more than others. I have upgraded this Mag Charger with the EXCELLENT TerraLUX (of USA) TLE-300MR which is a 600 lumen LED upgrade. WOW! The basic product is still great and has the shape, fit and finish we are all used to (and is Made in USA like TerraLUX) while the performance is unsurpassed! Way to go.

Very well made.
This is a very bright Flashlight. I like the fact that it can be charged with the AC Adapter OR the 12vdc Cigarette Lighter Plug in a vehicle. I keep one in my Motorhome by the Stairs, and one by the Door in my Workshop for grabbing quickly when I need it. The Charging Cradle feels like it is not as heavy duty as the flashlight so you cannot just jerk it off and go, bu should do just fine if you don't get really rough with it. I also like the fact that you can press the button twice to make it half as bright to save the battery power for long jobs.

Best Mag Lite ever ......
I work for the government as a communications technician and sometimes you need a nice BRIGHT light with staying power, when working in dark rooms and doing cable splices, etc. So, I knew what I was getting before I actually bought one of these lights for myself. I was so impressed with the light at work, that I knew I would eventually have one at home, and now I do. This is a GREAT light! It will stay lit for HOURS without needing a charge. No batteries to replace and super bright. My light came with 2 mounting brackets, an AC charger and a DC plug for the car or truck. I'll definately pack this light during future trips. Also, I received this light just 3 days after ordering it .. super fast delivery!

You'll Understand Why.......
I purchased the Mag-Lite RX109 Heavy Duty Rechargeable Flashlight from Amazon about two years ago upon recommendation from my son-in-law who is an airline mechanic. It proved to be a awe inspiring product........... for about the first month. Super bright with a wonderful adjustable focusing/spreading beam. I was enthralled. After the month honeymoon, reality set in as in as its ability to hold a charge rapidly weakened. Soon, when taking it from its charging cradle it would become useless in a matter of minutes.I bought two more rechargeable batteries, at twenty buck a pop..................... same result: take it out of it's charging cradle and all is fine. Five minutes later no light at all.During that two years, all I have used it for is occasionally going out with the dog at night and during infrequent power outages. It looks just like it came out of the box, not a mark or even a smudge on it. There is no way the flashlight use could have exceeded five hours. Despite its very limited use, I still went through 4 replacement bulbs at five buck a pop. Along the way, the switch stopped working... in the on position. One still could turn it off and on by unscrewing back a half dozen turns, but............Doing the arithmetic. At 95 bucks cost new, plus 60 bucks in batteries plus 20 bucks in bulbs comes to $175.00 for 5 hours use works out to $35 per hour......... for a flashlight with a broken switch and won't hold a charge for five minutes.I also have ANOTHER Mag-Lite, this one a three D cell model. With even less usage, it sits worthless on the shelf with a switch broken in the OFF position.......
